Malls for Smalls

Singapore’s Best Malls for Kids

Take the little ones shopping: are you mad? We’ve put our trotters to the test to find the best malls for kids in Singapore. Armed with this list of kid-happy malls, you can brave the tiled floors with renewed vigor.

City Square Mall
Slap bang in the middle of busy Farrer Park is this gem of a mall with children most definitely in mind. Not only does it have an outside eco playground with a maze, but the whole place is geared up to smalls, with baby seats in toilets, child basins, family car lots and baby prams you can use for free. Don’t forget to actually shop…
City Square Mall, 180 Kitchener Road, Singapore 208539, p. 6595 6595.

VivoCity has it all: major kids’ toy stores, a rooftop waterpark the area of four Olympic-sized swimming pools (yes, really), and a mini train for $6 a go. After that it’s time for lunch, and make it a pub, why not? At the Queen & Mangosteen there’s a kids’ menu and a view of the train chuffing up and down while you enjoy a cool one.
VivoCity, 1 HarbourFront Walk, Singapore, 098585, p. 6377 6860 / 6377 6870.

This mall out West is a must for foodies, boasting more than 46 eateries to assuage your hunger, but how to work it off? Well, after lunch you can pop up to Level 3 where you’ll find a wonderful and well-planned rooftop wet and dry playground, with a waterplay area and a seven-metre tree house.
IMM, 2 Jurong East Street 21, Singapore 609601, p. 6665 8268.

Star Vista
What a little star this is, with more of those splashy fountains, a semicircle of wide steps to climb while adults sit on nearby, nursing rooms, and kids’ shower room, free baby strollers on loan and, best of all, films on a big screen in the atrium every now and then – we think it ticks all the ‘fun’ boxes.
Star Vista, 1 Vista Exchange Green, Singapore 138617, p. 6694 3111.

The Forum
This is THE mall for children, the Auntie of them all, stuffed full of toy and book stores and with a giant Toys”R”Us branch running the entire length of the top floor. Throw in some enrichment centres, the brilliant Children’s Technology Workshop, clothes shops and kiddy hair salons and you’ve a mecca for children. Lunch at Benjamin Browns or the California Pizza Kitchen – sorted.
