Why trust this guide?
Hi, I’m Amanda, Senior Lifestyle Writer at HoneyKids Asia and the dedicated curator of our weekend guide. Whether it’s a cute new playground or a promo at one of our fave attractions, a fun theatre show, or a limited edition event like a Baby Shark themed cruise (more on that below), bookmark this page and check back every week for our list of the best of what’s on this weekend in Singapore for kids and families.

Top things to do this weekend with kids in Singapore
1. FREE: Fireworks shows on Saturdays are back! National Day rehearsals have begun

If your kids are already asking when they’ll see the Red Lions or hear the fighter jets overhead, the wait is over. The National Day Parade season is upon us, with National Education (NE) shows taking place on Saturday evenings ahead of the big day on 9 August. While tickets are allocated by ballot, you don’t need one to soak up the atmosphere. Head to the National Stadium precinct or the Kallang waterfront to catch the aerial displays (weather and operationally permitting), the unmistakable buzz of NDP, and the spectacular fireworks lighting up the skyline after sunset.
Hot tip: Pack a picnic mat, bring snacks, and arrive early if you’re hoping to score one of the best waterfront spots. Keep an eye on our updates in our 2026 Guide to National Day for fun family events, and check out our full guide on the best places to spot fireworks.
When: Saturdays, 27 June, 4 July, 11 July and 18 July 2026, from around 5pm onwards.

NEW: Check out Exploria, an awesome new attraction at Mandai Wildlife West!

Teens in tow? You’ll want to bookmark Exploria, the newest indoor multimedia adventure at Mandai Wildlife Reserve. Billed as Southeast Asia’s largest indoor nature-themed attraction, this massive 10,000sqm, two-level space is less “exhibit” and more high-energy quest. Think Arctic peaks to ocean depths, prehistoric giants to microscopic marvels, all wrapped up in an interactive game where you clock points, earn badges and (sneakily!) soak up plenty of conservation know-how along the way.
It’s basically an indoor playground designed especially for teens older kids. Purposeful, yes, but so immersive they won’t even realise they’re learning. Expect dim lighting and dramatic sound effects in parts, comfy seating dotted around, stroller parking and nursing rooms on level one, plus water points near the restrooms to keep everyone hydrated. Doors officially open 3 March 2026, and trust us, this is one adventure your big kids will actually thank you for!
Where: Mandai Wildlife EAST, 80 Mandai Lake Road, Singapore 729826
Price: For Wildpass holders, $34.20 per adult, $25.20 per child/ student, $20 per senior. Standard price $38 per adult, $28 per child/ student

Visit a pet cafe in Singapore!

Thinking of adding a furry friend to the fam? Start with a latte and some paws-on time at one of Singapore’s adorable dog and cat cafés. Whether your crew are die-hard dog lovers or devoted feline fans, these cosy spots are perfect for teaching kiddos how to interact gently and respectfully with animals. It’s a great “try before you adopt” idea if the kids have been campaigning hard for a pet, and lets everyone unwind over coffee while soaking up cuddles from some seriously cute critters. Just a heads-up: most pet cafés have minimum age requirements (usually six and up) to keep both kids and animals safe, so be sure to check before you go.

Try a fun art class with the kiddos

When the black clouds (or haze) rolls in, it’s always nice for kids to shelter inside an indoor play centre. But when you’re stuck at home, nothing brightens the atmosphere quite like reaching for our art supplies. But while it’s always nice to get crafty with the kids at home, wouldn’t it be great if you could take a break from scraping paint off your coffee table? We say, let your mini-Banksy get a real-life art lesson at one of Singapore’s art classes instead! These art studios and workshops around Singapore let kids get messy and busy to their heart’s content. Check out our full guide to art classes in Singapore for where to go to get crafty!
