Check out these awesome things to do and family-friendly activities for a ton of fun with the kids! And psst - we've got some mid-week inspo too!
One of our favourite weekends is upon us – it’s Mother’s Day this Sunday! Home-made cards, breakfast in bed (or a champagne brunch if that tickles your fancy!) and maybe a special gift or two, it’s always lovely to get those extra cuddles from the kiddos. There’s a special Mother’s Day concert by the Singapore Symphony Orchestra happening at the Botanic Gardens too, so we might take a picnic and enjoy the evening there!
Speaking of gardens, the National Parks board is arranging it’s annual Pet’s Day Out at East Coast Park this weekend. Speak to vets and groomers, buy a treat from the stalls, or even adopt a furry friend! We’ll also be heading to Gardens by the Bay to see the brand new light show, Borealis. Let us know by DM if you’ve been!

17. HAMILTON [Advisory 16]
The Revolution has arrived Singapore! The Tony, Grammy, Olivier, and Pulitzer Prize-winning musical is now showing at Sands Theatre. HAMILTON first premiered on Broadway in August 2015 to wide critical and audience acclaim and we can now understand why. We were lucky enough to catch the show at the gala night, and we can confirm that everything you’ve heard, is true. This is one unique and moving musical, with an incredible score that blends hip-hop, jazz, R&B and Broadway.
The music makes the show, along with the authentic costumes and the stellar cast. The show takes the story of American founding father Alexander Hamilton and turns it into a revolutionary moment in theatre. This is a musical that has had a profound impact on culture, politics and education – we learnt so much about American history. The book, music and lyrics are by Lin-Manuel Miranda, direction by Thomas Kail, choreography by Andy Blankenbuehler and musical supervision and orchestrations by Alex Lacamoire. A great one to enjoy with your teens, and come away singing the tunes. We can’t wait to see it again! Psssst… We have it on good authority that the best seats that are currently available would be on Tuesday, Wednesday evening and Sunday matinees performances from mid-May to June!
When: From 19 April 2024
Where: HAMILTON, Sands Theatre, Marina Bay Sands
Advisory Note: The show contains some swearing, imitates gunshots, and discusses war and revolution. Some sexual references. We think kids should be aged 10 and over to enjoy the show. Be prepared to focus and pay attention, as the rapping is quick and essential to the story. This means no mid-show toilet breaks! The musical is also lengthy, at close to three hours.
