What do women in Singapore really want for Mother’s Day? Kids (and husbands) take note: please bring us to one of these Mother’s Day dining spots so we can celebrate our day over a gourmet spread and a glass of well-earned bubbly. A lovely long-lie in, a day with no sibling squabbling (we wish!), and a chance to go the bathroom without a small human banging on the door wouldn’t go amiss either. We’ve done the planning for you and found kid-friendly buffet brunches and decadent afternoon teas, fantastic feasts of local dishes and dinners to suit every cuisine. We don’t mind where you take us – just make sure we don’t have to do any washing up!

Mother’s Day Afternoon Teas in Singapore 2021
1. Mother’s Day Afternoon Tea at Anti:dote
We’ve always been big fans of the afternoon tea at Anti:dote, so we were super excited to hear that they’ve got a Mother’s Day special lined up! Feast on their delectable spread of sandwiches, including salmon gravlax, duck confit and black cod. Then there’s the sweet treats with a whole host of delicious bonbons, macarons, and of course, the essential scones, to fill your boots with. As well as tea, you can also add on free-flow Tattinger champagne to really make a day of it. And don’t worry about the kids; they are well catered for with a dedicated kid’s afternoon tea menu!

2. Mother’s Day delights at The Marmalade Pantry
For a truly delicious afternoon tea (pictured above), look no further than The Marmalade Pantry. Choose from their Downtown or Novena branches and feast on a beautiful display of savoury and sweet delights. We’re talking open-face truffle egg mayo sandwiches and spicy crabmeat dip with fried mantou. Save room for those signature cupcakes and buttermilk scones with clotted cream, strawberry preserve and orange marmalade, yum! Choose from a selection of teas from local brand Monogram Tea. If you’re after that extra special treat, opt for the Royal Afternoon Tea Set (you’re worth it after all). This has all the above, plus your choice of a signature Marmalade Pantry pasta dish and three glasses of De Bortoli Emeri Pink Moscato sparkling wine – perfect for that Mother’s Day toast!

3. Mother’s Day High Tea with a view at Skai
If you want a wow factor, then we say opt for the high tea that’s true to its name, located on the 70th floor of the Swissôtel The Stamford. Skai is offering lunch, dinner and high tea experiences served with a side of incredible views. The afternoon tea includes an indulgent assortment of sweet and savoury dishes, plus TWG tea or Suzuki coffee. Tuck into an assortment of treats including Iberico ham, salmon pâté, raspberry lychee rose petit pot and (if you still have room) the Madagascar vanilla scones served with Devonshire cream strawberry and apple marmalade. Dreamy!

4. Mums dine free at Hilton’s Mother’s Day Afternoon High Tea!
That’s right, for every order of two afternoon high tea sets, mums dine free at Hilton Singapore. The good times don’t stop there either; this pink themed affair is sure to be a winner with sweet treats such as champagne rose cheesecake and chocolate truffle cake; yes, please! Then there are savoury light bites including crabmeat and beetroot roulade and marinated salmon gravlax with caper berries. The pink theme continues with the pink hot chocolate, alongside tea and coffee options. You can also add an extra seafood platter to really go all out and a two-hour free-flow prosecco. It’s only Mother’s Day once a year, right?

5. MO Bar Mother’s Day Afternoon Tea!
How about treating mum to afternoon tea at MO Bar this Mother’s Day? You know you’re in for a treat at the Mandarin Oriental, so mum is sure to be impressed. There are platters of sweet and savoury delights to tuck into. Start off with the savoury selection imcluding egg roll with mirin, miso emulsion and topped off with ikura (fancy!). Then there’s the smoked salmon on Hokkaido milk bread with wasabi mayo. And then there are the sweet options. We are eyeing up the Goma eclairs, plus the baked cheesecake with a yuzu chiboust. You can even add on a Roku Mother’s Day cocktail for an extra special treat!

6. Sunday Champagne Brunch at Edge, Pan Pacific
Hooray, buffets are back! We’d like to think the return of the famous and much-loved brunch at Edge is timed with us Mums in mind! If you can’t decide what kind of fare you fancy this Mother’s Day, head to Edge for an international buffet that includes signature dishes from Singapore, China, Malaysia, India and Japan. Highlights include oysters, Boston lobster, snow crab legs, slow-cooked beef cheeks in red wine sauce and Nyonya beef rendang. And don’t get us started on puds – come with an appetite! Psst. There’s also kid’s entertainment with a complimentary caricature or balloon sculpture for the littlies to take home!

7. SO/ Mother’s Day Brunch – SOLD OUT
Here’s a brunch treat for all the mums out there – the extravagant brunch at Xperience comes as a three-tier tower filled to the brim with loads of brunch goodies. First up is a selection of delish hot and cold appetisers, followed by poached prawns and mud crab, grilled whole squid, and roasted veggies in the middle. And the best until last? The top has a generous assortment of éclairs, cakes & berry crumble pie! If that’s not enough, there’s a free-flow carving station, plus an indulgent cheese trolley. The Mother’s Day of dreams!

8. ABBA-inspired Mother’s Day Brunch at Sofitel Singapore Sentosa!
If you fancy spending Mother’s Day over in Sentosa, check out the Mega Brunch at Sofitel Singapore Sentosa. Not only is there a delicious spread on offer with everything from the freshest seafood to a fab cheese and charcuterie counter, but the brunch is also being extra generous for mums with its mums eat free offer for every three paying adults, so round up the troops for this one! That’s not all; the brunch is also going all out ABBA (they know us too well!). So if you fancy taking on the role of mother/daughter duo Donna and Sophie from Mamma Mia with ABBA’s feel-good songs, this is the place. 9. Enjoy Mother’s Day brunch at home from Porta!
If you’re after a traditional Mother’s Day brunch (we’re talking breakfast treats galore) and don’t fancy getting out of your PJs this Mother’s Day, Porta has the answer. Choose from two delish platters delivered directly to your door. The Croissant Platter is full to the brim with brekkie delights such as smoked salmon and guacamole croissant, french toast and mini omelette – and the list goes on! Or, opt for the Benedict Platter with generous servings of eggs benedict with ham, as well as all the staples like sauteed mushrooms and potato rosti. The best way to start Mother’s Day!

10. Celebrate Mamma the Italian way at Zafferano
Italians are well known for putting family first, and Zafferano is doing Mother’s Day Italian style with a delish four-course menu inspired by Chef Andrea De Paola and the important maternal ladies in his life. There are classic Italian dishes such as melanzana, a tribute to the chef’s nonna. Then there’s spaghetti with rich monkfish ragout and peppery rucola pesto – the first dish cooked by the chef for his mother; and merluzzo, a classic Tuscan fish stew for his mother-in-law. Awww!

11. A TLC dining experience for Mother’s Day at Singapore Marriott Tang Plaza Hotel
If you’re after a bit of TLC this Mother’s Day, then look no further than Singapore Marriott Tang Plaza Hotel, with two options to pick from. First up, Wan Hao Chinese Restaurant is offering nutritious, collagen-filled Cantonese delicacies as part of its set menu. There’s bird’s nest with fish maw and papaya puree in superior stock and crispy fish maw with caviar with seasonal greens and almond superior sauce. And that’s just a sample! Or, over at Marriott Cafe, there are more treats in store with a five-course menu which covers all taste buds with options such as a luxury seafood platter, pan-seared barramundi with sautéed spinach, plus that much-needed boost with the clam and saffron-infused collagen broth. Save room for puds, too; we’ve got our eye on marinated raspberry and lemon confit gelato!

12. Thai-inspired Mother’s Day feast at Blue Jasmine!
Had a trip to Thailand in mind this Mother’s Day? Us too! All is not lost, though, with the fabulous Thai spread being cooked up over at Blue Jasmine. There are all the classics, including mouth-watering minced chicken with peanut pink sago ball and green mango salad with gooseberry. Spice things up with the tom yum red seafood soup, made with kaffir lime leaves, galangal, lemongrass, chilli padi and tom yum red chilli paste – delish! Then pick from a selection of mains, including crispy fish with three-flavour sauce and kailan with salted fish and shitake mushroom. We can’t promise you the beach, but the food is pretty good!

13. Mother’s Day feast at Yan (with a takeaway option too!)
If you want to tuck into Cantonese fare to celebrate all things mum, then look no further than Yan! They are offering up a scrumptious affair of Cantonese delights with a six or eight-course menu to pick from! There’s the signature Yan harvest pen cai, a delicious chicken broth, and the fave Yan Peking duck – yum! Even better, if you don’t fancy heading out, then you can get the six-course option as a takeaway to enjoy in the comfort of your own home!

If you’d like someone to cook a roast dinner for you for a change, then look no further than the Mother’s Day options at LeVeL33 with their delish weekend roast offerings. Choose from juicy corn-fed chicken, lamb banjos and wagyu tri-tip. There are also yummy seafood options with salmon belly sashimi as a starter and pan-seared tiger prawns for main! And save room for the layered honey cake – it’s Mother’s Day after all!
