Happy Monday, everyone! And here’s hoping that you are waking up to a new week surrounded by beautiful blooms and homemade cards having had a wonderful Mother’s Day! But to get us through the rest of the week and continuing the mummy feels, we’re going to need some fun-packed adventures for offspring of all ages. Luckily, we have just the thing with this week’s list of the kid-approved activities happening around Singapore…
1. Spend the day at the beach
Hop on the colourful monorail to Sentosa and head to the fam-friendly resto, Coastes, for a good ol’ fashioned bucket and spade kind of day at the beach. Remember sunscreen and hats, and absolutely try the delish pizza!
2. Take to the skies… kind of
If you’ve trekked over to Sentosa only for the rain literally to pour on your parade, postpone Coastes for another time, and head indoors for a skydiving adventure to lift your spirits at iFly! Mini-daredevils need to be at least seven-years-old for this exciting indoor activity. Brownie points if parents try it too!
3. Go on a theatre date with the big kids
We caught Legally Blonde – The Musical on opening night, and we’re still chuckling days later! Perfect for a night out with older kids – there is a bit of adult humour that may need some explaining, so our advice would be to bring kiddos age 10 (ish) and up – the actors, sets, singing and fuzzy feel goods were spot on. Bend and snap, people!
4. Shop in peace at a store with a play corner
Mums turned entrepreneur always get a big thumbs up in our book, so having just checked out new concept store, Liliewoods Social, we have a new shopping destination to swoon about. It’s filled with gorgeous products created by clever mums, from nursing covers to furniture for kids, creative toys to furniture for kids AND it has a play corner for the ‘lil ones!
5. Ramble around Fort Canning on a jungle adventure
Having recently caught the wonderful production of Shakespeare in the Park | Julius Caesar, it got us to thinking how we don’t ever seem to have Fort Canning Park on our radar when it comes to a weekend ramble with the kids… We fixed that with a delicious brunch at Flutes and a post-food stretch of our legs exploring the hills, green pockets and history of this really rather pretty patch of the island. Look out for our guide to this lovely park, coming soon!
