2. NEW: See the Northern Lights at Gardens by the Bay
Get ready to be amazed because the Northern Lights are making a magical pit stop right here in Singapore! Introducing Borealis, an enchanting outdoor art installation at Gardens by the Bay’s Supertree Grove. Crafted by the talented artist Dan Acher from Switzerland, Borealis brings the breathtaking spectacle of the aurora borealis to life amidst our iconic Supertrees. Kiddos will be be mesmerised by the ever-changing colours and patterns dancing across the illuminated night skies. Accompanied by a captivating soundtrack by French composer Guillaume Desbois, this is as close as we can get to experiencing the Borealis for ourselves, without leaving Singapore’s shores. Blending art and technology, this is a one-of-a-kind experience that will be fun for the whole fam!
When: Previews begin 4 May 2024, then every Monday 8:00pm – 8:30pm and Saturdays and Sundays 9:00pm – 9:30pm

3. NEW: Frida Kahlo immersive exhibition
Opening 4 May 2024
Frida Kahlo was undoubtedly one of the most influential artists of the 20th century, and this immersive biographical exhibition is a celebration of her life and work. Frida Kahlo: The Life of An Icon is set to hit our shores in May 2024 at the ArtScience Museum. Explore the life and work of this iconic Mexican artist, who was widely recognised for her vibrant self-portraits. While we highly recommend this for fans of the artist, kids will appreciate the captivating visuals too – what’s not to love?

4. NEW: The Artground reopens with M.A.P (Many Alternative Possibilities), a new transport-themed play space!
Explore the various possibilities of transportation with The Artground‘s newest installation, M.A.P (Many Alternative Possibilities)! After successful runs of its ‘Masak-Masak’ and ‘Clean Up, Or Else’ editions, the inclusive indoor playground is back with a new theme. M.A.P was created in collaboration with the students of Pathlight School, who showcase their love for transportation and inventive ideas into the play space. Look forward to their version of the uniquely Singaporean ERP gantry, go down slides with other MRT ‘passengers’, build your own vehicle and spot your neighbourhood on the MRT map!

5. See a movie on the beach in style: Hendrick’s Sunset Cinema returns this weekend
25 April – 12 May 2024
There’s an impressive lineup of award winning films set to screen at the Sunset Cinema on Tanjong Beach. Ticket’s for Mission: Impossible Dead Reckoning Part One are already sold out, but Priscilla is screening twice and there are still some seats left! All tickets include entry to the event/film, a Hendrick’s Gin cocktail ($14) at the event, deck chair seating for the film, use of wireless headphones and shuttle buses from the event to Harbourfront MRT. Don’t pack any alcohol, as it’s not allowed, and there’s F&B on site.
Note: Only for kids aged 12 years and older, and you need to adhere to the film ratings to be allowed entry. Tickets from $44.80 + GST, available at Sunset Cinema’s website.
6. Try a class at the first fully immersive yoga studio, now open in Singapore
Immersive yoga in the heart of Orchard with prenatal yoga and kids’ yoga available? Sign us up. We got to experience a vinyasa yoga class at the brand new Spirit Stretch yoga studio and had a magical flow among the Northern lights and a magical glittery ‘night sky’. Other cool backgrounds include lavender fields, stunning blue seas and even an animated whale to make you feel like you’re in an aquarium! Founded by Singapore-based Ukrainian yogi Svitlana Dabizha, the new yoga studio offers a range of programmes including Yoga Sculpt and Gyroflow, two classes that are unique to the studio. With all the immersive experiences popping up in Singapore lately, we never thought this would be one that we’d get to try! See what went down when we visited the cool new space during the grand opening.

7. Tulipmania returns to the Gardens by the Bay Flower Dome
We can’t wait to see the visual splendour that is Tulipmania! It’s one of our favourite flower exhibitions at Gardens by the Bay, returning for it’s 10th edition. Evoking the charm of iconic tulip farms in the Netherlands, where tulips are uniformly planted in rows of singular colour, this year’s floral display blends tradition and modernity. Expect to see quintessential elements of the traditional Dutch landscape such as the windmill and watermill set against modern features that showcase technological advancements in urban farming and clean energy. Love this!

8. HAMILTON [Advisory 16]
The Revolution is coming to Singapore! The Tony, Grammy, Olivier, and Pulitzer Prize-winning musical is coming to Singapore! HAMILTON first premiered on Broadway in August 2015 to wide critical and audience acclaim and has gone on to play seasons in London’s West End, Australia, Germany, Canada and New Zealand.
Look forward to an incredible score that blends hip-hop, jazz, R&B and Broadway. The show takes the story of American founding father Alexander Hamilton and turns it into a revolutionary moment in theatre. This is a musical that has had a profound impact on culture, politics and education. The book, music and lyrics are by Lin-Manuel Miranda, direction by Thomas Kail, choreography by Andy Blankenbuehler and musical supervision and orchestrations by Alex Lacamoire.

…Wait, there’s MORE! Ideas for things to do with the kids on the weekend in Singapore
13. Little dino-lovers won’t want to miss ROAR! Dinosaur Adventure Park 2.0
We love hunting for dinosaurs in Singapore! This month, Let’s Play at Marina Square is being transformed once again, this time into ROAR! Dinosaur Park 2.0! Have you ever wanted to meet Dinosaurs in real life? Walk into an awesome world that draws you back to the sights and sounds of the Jurassic age with life-size, full-scale, animatronic dinosaurs! We’re so excited to see the range of dinosaur themed attractions. PlayStation games, ride-on adventure cars and dinosaur rides, a ball pit, and dino inflatables are all on the list. Little budding paleontologists can even dig up dinosaur fossils in the sand pit and explore the dinosaurs in the forest!

16. Azaleas of Shangri La: Cloud Forest exhibition opening at Gardens by the Bay
The Cloud Forest at Gardens by the Bay is being transformed into a wonderland of azaleas! Did you know that ‘Shangri-La’ is a mythical utopia described in the fantasy novel ‘Lost Horizon’? This display takes inspiration from this magical place, and transports visitors into an enchanting paradise set against the backdrop of the Himalayas. Discover over 15 varieties of azaleas in beautiful bright colours, as well as a collection of traditional medicinal herbs set amongst vibrant Himalayan architecture and artefacts.

17. EXTENDED: Harry Potter: The Forbidden Forest Experience, plus FREE movie screenings!
Sentosa is in full Harry Potter mode, with the announcement of a brand new exhibition coming to Resorts World Sentosa this year! 18. ‘Naruto The Gallery’ exhibition at Universal Studios Singapore
28 March – 30 June 2024
Visitors to Universal Studios Singapore who are fans of the Naruto anime series will want to make sure to explore this brand new exhibition located at Soundstage 28. Naruto: The Gallery will showcase six areas delving into the world of manga artist Masashi Kishimoto. Discover the evolution of the Naruto series, with dioramas of iconic scenes, photo displays and character profiles. There’s also limited edition exclusive merchandise, a fun photo booth, and even a pop up Naruto: The Gallery Cafe with a specially designed menu of dishes from the anime series!

23. Tickets now on sale for Bebefinn: Live on Stage
Fans of Baby Shark and Pinkfong will be so excited to hear that there’s a brand new live show coming to Singapore featuring all our favourite characters! Finn hears a noise and tiptoes out of bed, to see a shooting star! This musical adventure is highly anticipated, and this will be the World Premiere happening in Singapore this June – we can’t wait!
