Grab a slice of lunch or dinner at one of these dough-tally awesome pizza joints...
We don’t think we’re alone in saying our kids’ favourite food is pizza. Sure, they love tucking into local Singaporean dishes and hitting up fish and chips at kid-friendly restaurants about town, but ask them what one food they’d take with them to a desert island and we know the response. PIZZA! But not just any pizza, mind you: we’re talking authentic, Italian thin-crust pizza with delectable toppings (we’ve taught them well). Here’s our list of kid-friendly, fail-safe pizza joints we have on permanent rotation.
Plank Sourdough Pizza
If you love the soft, pillowy sourdough bread at Baker & Cook, you’re going to go cray cray for the pizza at sister restaurant Plank Sourdough Pizza. Add a wood oven and fresh, authentic Italian ingredients to the mix and you’ve got the recipe for a cracking meal out with your crew. We recently checked out the Dempsey branch at Core Collective, and the ambience is beautifully bright and airy, with an outdoor playground to boot – perfect for kids to blow off some steam while they wait for their pizzas. Our favourite pizza is the Number 6: tomato sauce, mozzarella, parma ham & rocket… truly one of the best pizzas in Singapore.

If it’s a home delivery kind of night (or day), do yourself a favour and order in from Alt. Pizza. For the adults go for the Hangover (with tomato base, mozzarella, pepperoni, fennel sausage and parmesan) and let the kids design their own dream pizza!

Expect friendly service, lush green views and delightfully light thin crust pizzas at alfresco family resto Picotin Express. Run off some energy pre-feast with a hit of mini putt putt next door.
PICOTIN @ Bukit Timah, Champions Golf Course, 60 Fairways Drive, Singapore 286966, and PICOTIN @ East Coast, 382 Joo Chiat Road, Singapore 427622, www.picotin.com.sg
Peperoni Pizzeria has a rep with the kids for good reason – its bistros are designed with small humans in mind and it consistently plates up tasty pizza. A kids’ set meal is $14 including a main, a drink and gelato you say? We’re there! Definitely one of the best pizzas in Singapore.

Re-laaax with sand between your toes and drink-in-hand while your kids play on the equipment or splash about in the water play area at Trapizza. The cute pig-shaped pizza is irresistible to little people as is the roll-your-own dough station. Perfecto!
Shangri-La’s Rasa Sentosa Resort and Spa, 10 Siloso Walk, Singapore 099538, www.shangri-la.com
If the kids can’t keep still for more than a nanosecond then Cafe Melba serves up not only great pizza, but it comes with a side order of entertainment for small diners too. Little ones can grab a slice of the bouncy castle action in between bites of margherita pizza that’s sure to be a hit with even the fussiest of eaters.
90 Goodman Road, Block N #01-56, Singapore 439053 and 1 Stars Avenue #03-01, Singapore 138507, www.cafemelba.com.sg
British export Pizza Express is a fantastico place to get your pizza fix with its Piccolo kids’ menu ($12 for pizza/pasta, drink and dessert). The colouring pencils and activity sheets distract little hands in the four minutes it takes to cook the pizzas to perfection. And did we mention the dough balls? For kids, it’s probably one of the best pizzas in Singapore… definitely the most consistent!

For a bit more of a grown-up experience, Jamie’s Italian is one to check out. The kids’ menu includes a margherita pizza with The Naked Chef’s very own seven hidden veg tomato sauce base… that’s one way to get the kiddos to eat healthy!
Orchard, 583 Orchard Road, #01-01/04 Forum, Singapore 238884 and VivoCity, 1 HarbourFront Walk, #01-165/167, Singapore 098585, www.jamieoliver.com
Cibo Italiano Singapore
Transport yourself to a Tuscan trattoria at hidden gem Cibo Italiano Singapore. What do we adore about this place? The three A’s: antipasti, affordability and authenticity keep us coming back time and again (and the fancy frozen take home pasta is delish). It’s an intimate space and most tables are outdoors so expect to dine alfresco. Full disclosure: we’d skip this one with rowdy toddlers as the seating isn’t for them, but older kids like perching on the chairs, and we’ve eaten there with a pram no problem. (Even better, take yourselves off for date night.)
