We've been rounding up what we consider to be the very best sandwiches in Singapore
You can have them as a meal or a quick snack but here’s the thing about making sandwiches at home. Even if you have all the best cheese, meats, breads and spreads, chances are, the sandwiches won’t turn out to be what you’ve envisioned. And we still can’t figure out why! Lucky for us, Singapore is a pretty great place to get your hands on some of the best sandwiches and bagelwiches to satisfy your cravings. Read on for our thoroughly vetted list (AKA, tried and tasted!)…
Hearty and yummy sandwiches in Singapore we love!
Breakfast Sandwich at Korio

This cult-favourite has been quietly building a devoted following since 2020 from their small takeaway counter at Far East Square. So devoted that even when Korio closed in 2023, fans, like us, did not forget them. We were overjoyed when they came back with a 600-squre foot space at IOI Central Boulevard. And now they even have a second outlet at Bugis. Our favourites include the Breakfast Sandwich stacked with crispy luncheon meat and creamy gribiche between sourdough and the Mortadella and Pickles that’s served between those airy potato rolls. Don’t forget to try the brioche-based doughnuts too — kids approved!
Where: Korio, IOI Central Boulevard, #01-11 and Midtown Modern II, #01-21
Opening hours: Opens at 8am, please refer to the website for more details

Bacon and Egg at Sarnies

If you’re an early riser and scouring for a brekkie spot in Telok Ayer, drop into Sarnies for a mouth watering bacon and egg sarnie, coupled with their signature bulletproof coffee or any caffeinated drink to get you fuelled up. The Aussie-style cafe is very popular among cyclists in Singapore who’ll make a stop there for their coffee and stacked sandwiches. If you’re a small eater, consider sharing the sandwiches, because they are huge!

2BAC at Two Men Bagel House

The guys behind Two Men Bagel House really know sandwiches. If you find yourself in Tanjong Pagar, ideally before 3pm, grab yourself the 2BAC, the bacon, egg, and cheese bagelwich. It might the be the smoked chipotle ketchup or the buttermilk scrambled eggs that has gotten us hooked on this. We’re still making our rounds to every outlet just to try the outlet exclusives.
Where: Two Men Bagel House, various locations around Singapore including Joo Chiat, Novena, and Punggol
Opening hours: Daily 8am -3.30pm and 8am -4pm at Punggol.

Koki Alternative Bread Bar

Bread bar by day and Izakaya by night, Koki Alternative Bread Bar is set to make the familiar even better. That means baking everything, from the shokupan and brioche to the focaccia and plain bread, in-house. We love sinking our teeth into the soft, buttery shokupan overflowing with creamy mushroom mix, enriched with parmesan and truffle seasoning. Coffee is a must here! They only serve filter coffee but being the coffee connoisseurs they are, you might even be lucky enough to sip on exlcusive small batch beans.
Where: Koki Alternative Bread Bar, 60a Duxton Rd, #02-01, Singapore 089524
Opening hours: Wed – Mon 9.30am – 7pm. Closed Tue.

Roots by 3Blokes (Muslim-owned)

Tucked in the basement of East Village Mall is this cosy muslim-owned eatery, Roots by 3Blokes. They are best loved for their slow-cooked premium meats (served three ways) and generous serving portions! While you can enjoy their slow-cooked meats with mash potatoes and roasted potatoes, the version that gets our thumbs-up is the sando! Just imagine tender Australian pulled lamb shoulder sandwiched between slices of sourdough or focaccia, layered with mix cheese and a housemade mint sauce. No wonder The Caravan is the crowd’s favourite comfort food!
Where: Roots by 3Blokes, 430 Upper Changi Rd, #01-43 East Village, Singapore 487048
Opening hours: Tue – Thu and Sat – Sun 11am – 8.30pm, Fri 11am – 12.30pm, 2.30pm – 8.30pm. Closed Mon.

Open Secret (Muslim-owned)

When the titans of Singapore’s Muslim-owned F&B scene open a pop-up, you scour the back alleys of Arab Street until you find this hole-in-the-wall spot. Because you’ll get Grilla Gang’s iconic toasties with their special house cheese blend and inventive drink creations from State of Affairs. Order their classic grilled cheese toastie, The GG Toastie, with a side of tomato soup for drinking and dipping. Just know that if you’re with the kids, the Chocolate Crunch Toastie will be a non-negotiable.

Burnt End Sanger at Burnt Ends

This one-Michelin star restaurant is definitely not your usual local sandwich shop. Burnt Ends is famously known for their smoked meat dishes (and up to 3 hour queues for a weekday dinner), it’s no surprise how juicy their Burnt Ends Sanger is. It’s a heavenly combination of tenderly slow-cooked pork shoulder, cheddar cheese, and pillowy brioche bun. This is hands down the juiciest pork sandwich we’ve had in Singapore, and one blissful bite will wash away the painful memory of you splurging on a sandwich (yep, it’s worth it). Oh! And you can Build-your-own Sanger from the Bakery.
Where: Burnt Ends, 7 Dempsey Rd, #01-02, Singapore 249671
Opening hours: Tue – Wed 6pm -11pm, Thu – Sun 12pm – 2.30pm, 6pm -11pm

Pulled pork sandwich at Meatsmith

We have to say, every dish at Meatsmith is incredible. However, the pulled pork sandwich is probably one of THE main reasons we keep coming back to Telok Ayer for lunch. Because trying is believing… Just imagine, smoked pulled pork layered with red onion, pickles, BBQ mustard…just the way we like it.
Where: Meatsmith, 167-169 Telok Ayer St, Singapore 068620
Opening hours: Mon – Fri 11.30am -2.30pm, 5.30pm – 9.30pm; Sat – Sun 12pm – 9.30pm

Caramelized Pork Belly Banh Mi at NamNam Noodle Bar

If you’ve been to Vietnam, you’ll know that the second most famous Viet dish, second to Pho, is Banh Mi. It’s basically a crispy baguette stuffed with marinaded meat and pickled vegetables. Out of all the meat choices, however, we think there is just something so satisfying about the fatty pork belly (the fattier, the better, right?!). NamNam gets ridiculously busy around lunch time, so if you find yourself craving a Caramelized Pork Belly Banh Mi, we’d suggest you either go early, or prepare to wait.
Where: Nam Nam, multiple locations around Singapore including Great World City, Raffles City, Wheelock Place
Opening hours: Opens from 10am, please refer to the website for more details

Park Bench Deli

They are not known as the King of sandwiches for nothing! Moving on from their Telok Ayer spot, Park Bench Deli returned with a pop-up at Dempsey earlier this year and now a food truck concept at CBD, just outside Ocean Financial Centre. Fans are rejoicing because they’ve added new selections such as the Steak Frites — roast beef brisket with miso au poivre sauce. They’ll only be around for the next six months, so grab them while you can!
Where: Park Bench Deli, 10 Collyer Quay, Singapore 049315
Opening hours: Mon – Wed, Fri 11am – 8pm, Thu 11am – 8.30pm. Closed Sat and Sun.
