We love spreading a little kindness, and tehe idea of ‘paying it forward’. We’ll be out in full support of Singapore Kindness Day, which this year will encompass a week-long Kindness Festival from 13 to 19 May. Themed ‘May Kindness Be With You’, Kindness Day SG 2024 aims to inspire us all to radiate kindness from within. The aim is to create a more gracious and considerate society, one small action at a time. It’s also a great opportunity to open conversations with the kiddos about inclusivity and how to combat bullying. You could also look at ways to volunteer in Singapore and offer donations for those less fortunate.
8. The Artground has a new theme!
East siders – this one’s for you! As well as running a series of fantastic weekend art programmes, The Artground provides an interactive art space for the kids to explore. It’s suitable for babies and kids up to 9 years old, and we also love that it’s an accessible space for all. The theme changes throughout the year, so it’s never boring. The current theme is M.A.P (Many Alternative Possibilities), created in collaboration with the students of Pathlight School, who showcase their love for transportation and inventive ideas into the play space. Look forward to their version of the uniquely Singaporean ERP gantry, go down slides with other MRT ‘passengers’, build your own vehicle and spot your neighbourhood on the MRT map! Word of warning, though – this place is hugely popular, so make sure you book in advance! You can book an EXPLORE ticket (admits up to 5 pax) for $15 (refundable!).

Evoking the charm of iconic tulip farms in the Netherlands, where tulips are uniformly planted in rows of singular colour, this year’s floral display blends tradition and modernity. Love this!

13. Date Night: HAMILTON [Advisory 16]
The Revolution has arrived Singapore! The Tony, Grammy, Olivier, and Pulitzer Prize-winning musical is now showing at Sands Theatre. HAMILTON first premiered on Broadway in August 2015 to wide critical and audience acclaim and we can now understand why. We were lucky enough to catch the show at the gala night, and we can confirm that everything you’ve heard, is true. This is one unique and moving musical, with an incredible score that blends hip-hop, jazz, R&B and Broadway.
The music makes the show, along with the authentic costumes and the stellar cast. The show takes the story of American founding father Alexander Hamilton and turns it into a revolutionary moment in theatre. This is a musical that has had a profound impact on culture, politics and education – we learnt so much about American history. The book, music and lyrics are by Lin-Manuel Miranda, direction by Thomas Kail, choreography by Andy Blankenbuehler and musical supervision and orchestrations by Alex Lacamoire. A great one to enjoy with your teens, and come away singing the tunes. We can’t wait to see it again! Psssst… We have it on good authority that the best seats that are currently available would be on Tuesday, Wednesday evening and Sunday matinees performances from mid-May to June!
When: Until 9 June
Where: HAMILTON, Sands Theatre, Marina Bay Sands
Advisory Note: The show contains some swearing, imitates gunshots, and discusses war and revolution. Some sexual references. We think kids should be aged 10 and over to enjoy the show. Be prepared to focus and pay attention, as the rapping is quick and essential to the story. This means no mid-show toilet breaks! The musical is also lengthy, at close to three hours.

Discover over 15 varieties of azaleas in beautiful bright colours, as well as a collection of traditional medicinal herbs set amongst vibrant Himalayan architecture and artefacts.
