The turkey feasts have been devoured, the Christmas tree has decided to drop all its pines and the kids are done squabbling over the last mince pie or slice of log cake. It’s time to start planning the New Year’s Eve countdown to 2021 with firework-filled celebrations for the whole family across Singapore!
Having kids in tow doesn’t mean you have to forfeit the parties, bubbly and fireworks – bring the kids along, too! Although it’ll be a little bit different this year (thanks a bunch, Coronavirus), we think it’s still worth celebrating! So we’ve got the lowdown on where you can celebrate the last night of 2020 as a family in Singapore. From top spots to watch the fireworks to fun parties, we’ve got it all. WHERE TO CELEBRATE NEW YEAR’S EVE IN SINGAPORE WITH KIDS
1. The Line, Shangri-La Singapore
Family favourite, The Line at Shangri-La Singapore, is offering up a whole host of options come New Year’s Eve. If you’re after a daytime affair for the fam, then book their a la carte lunch buffet. With everything from seafood platters through to Asian and Western classics, and not to mention irresistible desserts, it’s fair to say you won’t go hungry. Kids are well catered for too with a dedicated kid’s menu. If you’re opting for the evening, there are two seatings to pick from (both include free-flow, yay!). Book early, we reckon this one will be popular!

Cost: New Year’s Eve a la carte buffet lunch (12 – 3pm) $78 per adult and $39 per child (6-11-year olds – under 6s dine free with each paying adult). 2. Glamorous New Year’s Soiree at Edge, Pan Pacific
Head on over to Edge at Pan Pacific Singapore this New Year’s Eve if you fancy getting your glad rags on and saying bye (good riddance!) to 2020 in style. It promises to be a very glam affair! Just make sure that dress is extra roomy because there’s quite the culinary line-up, with everything from seafood and sashimi platters, through to house-crafted charcuterie plates and that’s before we’ve talked mains. There are loads of kid-pleasers on the menu too, sure to impress the fussiest of fussy eaters.

3. New Year’s Eve Afternoon Tea at L’Espresso, Goodwood Park Hotel
How about treating the gang to an afternoon tea to see in 2021? L’Espresso at the super-festive Goodwood Park Hotel is putting on a New Year’s Eve English Afternoon Tea Buffet. For that final turkey fix, there’s even turkey and beef carvings on the menu. Make it extra special and add a glass of bubbles for Mum and Dad. It’s been a tough year – you deserve it!

4. New Year’s Eve celebrations at RISE Restaurant, Marina Bay Sands
We’re spoilt for choice when it comes to Marina Bay Sands dining options. We’ve done our research and found a gem in the New Year’s Eve family-friendly buffet on offer at RISE Restaurant in the lobby of Marina Bay Sands. Enjoy international delights including Alaskan king crab, oysters, and even a seafood mac and cheese, yum! Once you’ve (over)indulged, take in that Singapore skyline and the light display over Marina Bay.

5. Four-course festive dinner at Porta
If you miss the scrumptious dinner on offer at Porta this Christmas, never fear – you can still sample the delights of their four-course festive dinner for New Year’s Eve! With starters of Butternut Pumpkin soup and pan-seared Hokkaido Scallops, followed by Black Cod fillet or Beef Tenderloin, you’re in for quite a treat. And there’s Chocolate Christmas Log too! Looking for a cosy celebration at home to see in 2021? You’re in luck. The dinner is also available for takeout as well as dine in.

6. Festive Meat Platters at Ginett Restaurant & Wine Bar, Hotel G
What about a festive meat platter to welcome 2021 the right way? Book a table at French bistro haunt, Ginett Restaurant & Wine Bar at Hotel G, where you and the whole fam can tuck into generous servings of classic beef wellington, turkey roulade, grilled lobster tail and Kurobuta pork tomahawk. Talk about meat sweats. With $89 per platter (which serves three – four people), we think this is a bit of a bargain!

7. New Year’s Eve dining with a view at LeVeL33
There might not be the famed New Year Eve’s fireworks we know and love this year over Marina Bay, but the spectacular views from LeVeL33 still make it a favourite spot to celebrate the start of 2021. If you’re planning on bringing the kids, opt for the early four-course dinner option from 5-7.30pm (you’ll also get the bonus of sunset!). There’s also the later seating from 8pm onwards if you want to make the most of those sparkly city lights.

8. New Year’s Eve Dinner at the Atrium, Pan Pacific
If you’re looking for a different dining experience, then the Atrium pods overlooking the stunning reflection pool at Pan Pacific are just the ticket. This New Year’s Eve, there are three packages to select from to make a night of it, with free-flow add-on available too (yes, please!). We love the sound of the Premium Canape Set, which is sure to suit all the family with everything from mini Wagyu burgers, chicken yakitori, and praline gateau for pud.

9. Festive afternoon tea at The Lobby Lounge
Another option for a New Year’s Eve afternoon tea is The Lobby Lounge at Shangri-La Singapore. Decked out as a North Pole inspired winter wonderland, the kids are sure to love this one. The wow-factor doesn’t end there, with three tiers of deliciousness coming your way in the form of roasted pecan tarts, mince pies, Christmas cookies and delish savoury options (we could go on). If that wasn’t enough, we also think it’s amazing value at $50 a stand (each stand serves two). Want to enjoy these moreish delights at home? There’s even the option to take away!

10. Celebrate with Black Tap’s holiday specials
Whose kid doesn’t love Black Tap? Add in their December holiday specials, and you’ve got a winning combo. Try their insanely indulgent Chocolate Peppermint CrazyShake (cue crazy behaviour from the kids post sugar rush, but then again, it’s only New Year’s Eve once!). We also love their delicious burgers – a sure-fire hit with the mini squad. The location is perfect for NYE too, with the Marina Bay light display every 15 mins just outside. You’ll need the stroll to walk off that shake!

11. Buffet delights and fine dining in the sky at Hilton Singapore
How about the festive lights of Orchard Road as an alternative to fireworks this year? Team a stroll down this famous stretch with a foodie extravaganza at Hilton Singapore. Opus Bar & Grill is offering quite a spread this New Year’s Eve, with everything from unlimited rounds of seafood platters, to gourmet appetisers, and your choice of mains from six delicious options. Good luck picking! If you’re looking to really go to town, opt for fine dining delights at Il Cielo. The five-course festive menu is the perfect NYE treat, and you’ll get the best views of those festive lights from the 24th floor.

12. New Year’s dining for all the family at Faber Peak
Say hello to 2021 at Faber Peak this New Year’s Eve. Alongside stunning views over Sentosa (and cable car spotting for the kids!), you can feast on Arbora’s four-course scrummy set menu. Pick between pan-seared Australian barramundi, or deliciously tender baby lamb rack. The kids will be super-impressed with their very own three-course menu complete with family favourites like spaghetti Napoli and good old fish & chips.

13. Al fresco New Year’s Eve dining at Ah Hoi’s kitchen
After some local, Singaporean-inspired fare this New Year’s Eve? Check out the festive family feast on offer at Ah Hoi’s Kitchen. There’s superior seafood such as Alaskan king crab, baby lobsters and scallops, as well as a twist on traditional festive fare with wok-fried marinated chicken served with chestnuts and good old Brussel sprouts. We also love the setting here. Pick from al-fresco dining poolside, or inside under the fairy lights (sure to impress the kiddos).

14. Check out the Marina Bay light displays
We might not be ushering this New Year in with a bang watching fireworks over Marina Bay, but there are still some pretty cool light displays to enjoy. First off, there’s Shine a Light which runs throughout December. 60 moving beams will feature at The Promontory (the usual home for the fireworks). As well as a beautiful static display, there will be a light show every 15 mins. That’s not all. From the 25 – 31 December, Share the Moment will see students’ artwork projected in light form on famous landmarks throughout Marina Bay (including the Fullerton Hotel and ArtScience Museum). We know it’s not fireworks, but we reckon you’re still in for a treat!
Where: Marina Bay. Shine a Light (The Promontory, but visible throughout Marina Bay) timings: 8pm – 10.30pm every night in December, including a three-minute show playing every 15 minutes. Timings will be extended to 11.45pm on NYE. Share the Moment (featuring student’s artwork) runs 25 – 31 December.
15. New Year’s Eve celebrations up high at Mr Stork
Breathtaking views from the dizzy heights of the 29th floor await at one of our fave rooftop bars, Mr Stork. Book one of the ten teepees on offer to say goodbye (good riddance!) to 2020. Mum and Dad are sure to be impressed by the free-flow Delamotte Champagne, wines, beers, and house-pour spirits. You can also keep the munchies at bay with unlimited supplies of tasty bar snacks. Bringing the kids? It’s best to book the first seating (3 – 6pm). Kids at home? Opt for the second seating (7 – 10.30pm) to make the most of those skyline views and toast to 2021.

16. Underwater NYE celebrations at Ocean Restaurant
How about New Year’s Eve celebrations with underwater views? The kiddos will be super excited with the aquarium watching on offer at Ocean Restaurant in Resorts World Sentosa, check out the Manta Rays! It doesn’t stop there; there’s also a dedicated 3-course kids’ menu complete with Mermaid Ice Cream Sundae or Ocean Jello Cup. Good luck getting them to leave!

17. Say Adios 2020 at Super Loco Robertson Quay
We can always rely on Super Loco to deliver, and they’ve pulled out all the stops this New Year. Head on down to Robertson Quay for a family affair and enjoy a Head Honcho set dinner and four-hour free-flow of margaritas, bubbly, wines and beers. Don’t worry about the little ones, Super Loco has it covered with their dedicated kids’ free-flow nibbles menu and DIY craft kits to keep them busy, hooray!

18. Family NYE fun at Bayswater Kitchen
Always a popular one for fam-friendly dining and amazing views, Bayswater Kitchen is offering a 6-course set dinner this New Year’s including everything from Red Snapper Ceviche to Slow-Cooked Tenderloin. You don’t need to worry about the kids either, there’s a fab children’s menu available so they can tuck into their favourite dishes too.

19. Watch the New Year’s Eve celebrations and heartlands fireworks with the kids at home!
Although we were sad to hear there are no fireworks taking place at Marina Bay this year, we were super-excited to find out that displays are being planned in several heartland locations. Firework deets have yet to be announced, but a great Plan B is to watch all the action on TV from the comfort of your own sofa. There are also performances from local and global superstars on the night. We might even let the kiddos stay up late for this one…

20. Celebrate New Year’s Eve with Hello Kitty and friends at Sentosa Island Lights
Sentosa is offering some fun-filled end-of-year celebrations with the help of Hello Kitty and friends. Book your tickets for a Sanrio character-themed light display that’s sure to be a fun one for the kids this New Year’s Eve in Singapore. Better still, it’s free! Tickets can be booked up to five days in advance (and groups of up to 8 are accepted after December 28th!), so get your fingers at the ready. We reckon this one will be sold out in no time!

21. All aboard! NYE fireworks at sea with Dream Cruises

Looking for something Thai inspired to see in the New Year? Check out the Thai-Peranakan delights on offer at Blue Jasmine’s 4-course dinner. From Tiger Cry Beef Salad to Australian Ribeye gently marinated with Assam, plus add-ons of indulgent Creamy Butter Tiger Prawns, it’s fair to say you won’t go hungry. What’s more, the kids are well catered for with an a-la-carte selection of dishes available including firm favourite Stir-fried Glass Noodles. We didn’t make it to Thailand this New Year, but we’ve got the next best thing!
