Where to celebrate New Year’s Eve in Singapore with kids: Countdown to 2024!
1. Marina Bay Singapore Countdown 2024: Ice Magic Winter Wonderland, TurboCharged go-karting and fireworks
Look forward to an unforgettable experience this New Year’s Eve with a breathtaking fireworks show, inspiring light projections, exhilarating attractions (including a go-kart arena and winter playground!), and exciting live performances! This year, the New Year’s Eve fireworks will be launched from a more central location of the Bay with a 12-minute grand finale celebrating the New Year.
If you’re looking for something fun, there’s TurboCharged – a new immersive go-kart arena right in the heart of the city, launching 14 to 31 December 2023. Held at the Bayfront Event Space against the iconic Marina Bay skyline, this is a great one to look out for with the kids!
In the same area there will also be Ice Magic: Winter Wonderland – the massive pop-up winter playground makes a return this year from 9 December 2023 to 21 January 2024! Look forward to a taller and longer snow slope and dual-lane ice slide for thrill-seekers, as well as family-friendly rides such as a merry-go-round on a snowy landscape.

2. A New Year celebration on an exclusive luxury tall ship!

5. Celebrate with Mediacorp’s Countdown Party!
Celebrate 2024 at Let’s Celebrate on Sentosa Island! This Mediacorp extravaganza is part of Marina Bay Singapore Countdown 2024, promising non-stop entertainment. Join the party at The Promontory from 7 pm for DJ performances, games, and prizes. You can also tune in at home and catch hourly updates on TV and radio. Mediacorp also goes virtual with an interactive game (the kiddos will love this!) and fun social media filters for extra joy.
6. Heartbeat@Bedok’s Family Carnival & (Silent) Disco
How about breaking into the Singapore Book of Records while ushering in the new year? Heartbeat@Bedok needs you and kiddos to help surpass their previous “Largest Silent Disco” record in Singapore. So head over on New Year’s Eve and be part of this one-of-a-kind dance experience without generating excessive noise, thanks to music transmitted through customized headsets. To elevate the excitement, these headsets are equipped with integrated LED lights! Three DJs will be spinning a diverse range of music genres, including pop, rock, disco, R&B, zumba, and more. On 31 December 2023 from 8pm till late, expect to see Capitol Singapore’s Outdoor Plaza transformed into a party themed Time Travel to Y2K24. Parents, you can look forward to delectable dishes washed down with a plethora of cocktails, beers, house pours and prosecco from Hopscotch, the renowned cocktail bar. DJ Val will be spinning those retro tracks that take you back to that golden era. There will also be arcade games such as Bishi Bashi, Foos Ball, Air Hockey, Mario Racing Karts that will keep you or the older kiddos entertained!
8. Party with the community at Our Tampines Hub
Chec out the celebration at Our Tampines Hub. Starting from 10pm onwards, you can look forward to heartwarming stories about the Tampines residents and more. This event aims to foster the community spirit and more. Get ready to enjoy entertaining performances, witness how we turn the building walls into a visual masterpiece with projection mapping and last but not least, look out for the mesmerizing fireworks display at the stroke of midnight during the iconic countdown celebration at Town Square! Woo Hoo!
Free places to catch New Year’s fireworks in Singapore
1. Gardens by the Bay
We can wax lyrical about Gardens by the Bay all day! It’s also a great free place to catch the New Year’s Eve fireworks display with the family. Head to the waterfront promenade at Bay East Garden, which seamlessly links to East Coast Park through the Barrage. There are numerous fantastic vantage points offering breathtaking views of the Singapore fireworks display along the 2-kilometre expanse. The Bay East Garden is a gem that remains accessible 24 hours a day, and entry is free. Take advantage of this opportunity to relax with your family and witness the spectacular 2024 fireworks show. Depending on where you find yourselves, you can also get a ‘peekaboo’ view of the fireworks behind the Marina Bay Sands building. There are some cool Insta-worthy shots right now. Plus, be sure to hit up the Christmas Wonderland experience while there.

2. The Helix Bridge
This picturesque pedestrian bridge that links Marina Centre to Marina Sound is a standout vantage point to catch the fireworks this NYE without forking out the moolah!

3. The Esplanade
Bring the whole family to the Esplanade Waterfront, located next to The Float and extending from The Float to the Esplanade Bridge. This spot promises an excellent view for fireworks enthusiasts and is the location for good photos of spectacular displays. Plus, you and the kiddos can delight in free performances at the Esplanade Outdoor Theatre, ensuring an enjoyable experience for everyone.

4. Merlion Park
Although this is a touristy spot, it places you and the fam-bam directly in front of the fireworks display on NYE!

5. Marina Barrage
Could this be the prime destination for breathtaking views of the 2024 fireworks spectacle? Enjoy some quality time with the kids, engaging in fun activities before settling in for the night. Watch in awe as the New Year’s Eve 2024 fireworks illuminate the skyline above iconic landmarks such as the Singapore Flyer, Gardens by the Bay, and Marina Bay Sands.

Past NYE countdown to 2023 events
1. Watch the spectacular fireworks at Star Island
That’s right – the fireworks are back! After a two-year hiatus, Star Island returns with an 80-minute extravaganza of sound and colours! In conjunction with Marina Bay Singapore Countdown, the show will be hosted at The Float at Marina Bay. And that’s not all, Hello Kitty is also jetting into SG to celebrate the New Year with us, and you’ll be able to catch a live pre-show gig by DJ Hello Kitty alongside a Sanrio-themed family-friendly area! This one will sell out FAST – best get booking! Missed out or after a deal? The good news is that you can get a taster with a “Prequel to Star Island” that will run from 25-30 December 2022. Held at the Marina Bay Sands Event Plaza, this event is free and has a host of fam-friendly activities to enjoy – yay!

2. The Great Bay Fiesta
Uncle Ringo knows how to put on a carnival, and this December, he’s bringing the fun to Marina Bay! If you want to catch the fireworks and want lots of fun and activities to entertain the kids – then hotfoot it to The Great Bay Fiesta at the Bayfront Event Space this New Year’s Eve. Check out everything from traditional carnival fun with games and rides aplenty. This NYE will certainly be one to remember!

3. Celebrate with Black Tap’s holiday specials
Whose kid doesn’t love Black Tap? Add in their December holiday specials, and you’ve got a winning combo. We also love their delicious burgers – a sure-fire hit with the mini squad. The location is perfect for NYE, too. You’ll need the stroll to walk off that shake!

4. Hillside views to see in the New Year at Mount Faber Peak
This is a fab kid-friendly option if you’re looking to keep the kids entertained. We’re talking magic shows, balloon sculpting, face painting and more! And then there’s the food. Feast on a buffet menu, including live carving stations, and save plenty of room for the epic edible Arbora Wonderland Christmas village dessert centrepiece. Check out the train tracks and tuck into seasonal delights such as Arbora Christmas yule log, panettone, and mini Christmas minced pies. Treats for all the fam this NYE!

5. New Year’s Eve Afternoon Tea at L’Espresso, Goodwood Park Hotel
How about treating the gang to an afternoon tea to see in 2022? L’Espresso at the super-festive Goodwood Park Hotel is putting on a New Year’s Eve English Afternoon Tea Buffet. For that final turkey fix, there’s even a carving station. Make it extra special and add a glass of bubbles for Mum and Dad. It’s been a tough year – you deserve it!

6. Great Gatsby-inspired dinner buffet at Hilton Singapore Orchard
How about the festive lights of Orchard Road as an alternative to fireworks this year? Team a stroll down this famous stretch with a foodie extravaganza at Hilton Singapore Orchard. Estate is offering quite a spread this New Year’s Eve with a glitz-and-glamour affair and a grand Great Gatsby-inspired dinner buffet. Feast on rock lobster thermidor, whole stuffed suckling pig, meats from the live carvery, and festive desserts. Plus, there’s live music and a magician to keep the littlies entertained. Family favourite, The Line at Shangri-La Singapore is offering up a whole host of cuisines this New Year’s Eve. With everything from seafood platters through to Asian and Western classics, and not to mention irresistible desserts, it’s fair to say you won’t go hungry. Kids are well catered for, too, with a dedicated kid’s menu, including cheesy french fries, mozzarella cheese sticks, egg-fried rice, chicken nuggets, and more! What’s more, it’s also free-flow – hooray!

8. Look out for ‘Share the Moment’ artwork projections this New Year’s Eve
There’s even more New Year’s Eve fun to be had in Marina Bay this year; some of our favourite landmarks are also putting on displays! From 26 – 31 December, Share the Moment will see students’ artwork inspired by the stories of this year’s President’s Volunteerism & Philanthropy Awards nominees projected in light form on famous landmarks throughout Marina Bay – it’s definitely worth checking out!

9. Family feast (and kid-friendly activities) at Silver Shell Cafe at Shangri-La Rasa Sentosa, Singapore
Where better to see in the New Year than the beautiful tropical island that is Sentosa? Head to Silver Shell Cafe at Shangri-La Rasa Sentosa, Singapore and dine on a wide choice of delish (and kid-pleasing) options, including oven-roasted turkey, black forest ham, Panettone and log cakes, along with premium seafood on ice and international cuisines. And let the littlies get creative with the DIY cupcake decorating experience, as well as getting sweet treats galore with festive cotton candy, plus, a kids’ festive snack box and so much more!

We love Trapizza at the best of times, so we can’t really think of a better option come New Year’s Eve. The pizzas will go down a treat with the kids, and the grown-ups can always opt for something extra special with the seasonal dishes such as Porchetta di Maialino da Latte (Italian Porchetta Suckling Pig, $28++) or Filetto di Pesce Spada alla Griglia (Herb Citrus Marinated Charcoal Grilled Swordfish, $38++). And we’re pretty sure you’ll be fighting off the kids for the dessert special of Panettone Tradizionale Italiano (Classic Panettone with Sabayon Sauce, $15++).

We’re spoilt for choice when it comes to Marina Bay Sands dining options. We’ve done our research and found a gem in the New Year’s Eve family-friendly buffet on offer at RISE Restaurant in the lobby of Marina Bay Sands. Enjoy international delights, including Alaskan king crab, oysters, and even Flambé Spaghetti Marinara Tossed in Parmesan Wheel, yum! Once you’ve (over)indulged, take in that Singapore skyline and the fireworks over Marina Bay.

12. Say Adios 2022 at Super Loco Robertson Quay
We can always rely on Super Loco to deliver, and they’ve pulled out all the stops this New Year. Head on down to Robertson Quay for a family affair and feast on your favourite Mexican classics with the little ones. Even better, Super Loco knows the kids won’t make midnight, so they’ve even got an early countdown at 9pm, so no one misses out! Head from 6pm onwards to enjoy complimentary face painting and piñata-bashing action.

13. Glamorous New Year’s Soiree at Edge, Pan Pacific
Head on over to Edge at Pan Pacific Singapore this New Year’s Eve if you fancy getting your glad rags on and saying bye to 2022 in style. It promises to be a very glam affair! Just make sure that dress is extra roomy because there’s quite the culinary line-up, with everything from seafood and sashimi platters, through to house-crafted charcuterie plates, and that’s before we’ve talked mains. There are loads of kid-pleasers on the menu, too, sure to impress the fussiest of fussy eaters.

14. New Year’s Eve feast at Melt Cafe, Mandarin Oriental
Another one of our favourite fam-friendly brunches is going all-out for New Year’s Eve – prepare for a food coma if you head to Melt Cafe. Fussy eaters are well catered for here, too, because there’s literally everything on the menu with options from all corners of the world. Asian delights? Check. Traditional Roasts? Also covered. Noodle Stall? Oh yes. And that’s before we’ve even glanced at the sweet treats on offer (did someone say waffle station?). The final icing on the cake for mums and dads – free flow is included in the price! We’ll see you there.

15. Family NYE fun at Bayswater Kitchen
Always a popular one for fam-friendly dining and amazing views, Bayswater Kitchen is offering a 5-course set dinner this New Year’s, including everything from Clam Chowder to Grilled Filet Mignon. You don’t need to worry about the kids either, there’s a fab children’s menu available so they can tuck into their favourite dishes too.
