Wondering where to see Christmas lights in Singapore? Despite being a year-round sunshine city, the festive season always sees the Little Red Dot transforming into a Christmas wonderland. We’re talking gorgeous light displays accompanied by elaborately decorated Xmas trees at every shopping precinct. So, in between looking for Christmas decorations, gift shopping and hanging out with Santa, you’ll want to take some time to check out these twinkling places in Singapore where holiday lights will really ignite your yuletide spirit.
WHERE TO SEE CHRISTMAS LIGHTS IN SINGAPORE
1. Christmas on a Great Street, Orchard Road
Hit up the whole of Orchard Road and prepare to be dazzled by sparkling festive lights and colourful set-ups at every turn. This awesome light display starts at Tanglin Mall and ends at Plaza Singapura.

2. Sentosa Island Lights with Sanrio characters
Got Hello Kitty fans? Have the Island Lights at Siloso Beach on the top of your list this Christmas to see all your favourite Sanrio characters in magical light-up form. It’s not Christmas lights per se, but it’s sure to be a real kid-pleaser. Book your tickets now and have your camera at the ready!
When: 12 December – 10 January. Free entry but tickets must be pre-booked. Bookings accepted up to five days in advance. Three sessions per day at 7.30pm – 8.30pm, 8.30pm – 9.30pm and 9.30pm – 10.30pm. Book here – groups of up to 8 people are accepted after December 28th!

3. Universal Studios Singapore
Resorts World Sentosa is once again pulling out all the stops for its Christmas extravaganza. A ticket during the festive season doesn’t just mean exhilarating rollercoaster rides (check out our guide to to a day at Universal Studios) – it also means loads of glittering tinsel, holly, and Xmas-themed character meet and greets. We hear that the Minions, Shrek and all his friends will be around!

4. Christmas Wonderland, Gardens by The Bay
We’re so excited to hear that one of our all-time fave Christmas lights displays (pictured top) WILL be making an appearance this year, yay! Although it’s going to be in a different format to the norm (with lots of festive fun online), you can still see that famous Spalliera centrepiece in person. Unlike previous years, you’ll need to buy tickets in advance, so get booking early to secure your Christmas light fix!
When: Walk of Lights, 6.30pm – 10.30pm, 4th December – 27th December
Where: Supertree Grove, Gardens by the Bay
Cost: $5 per person for the Walk of Lights (entry is complimentary for one child under 0.9m for each paying adult)
5. Marina Central District
Sure, these aren’t Christmas lights, but the buildings in the Marina Central District are putting on a show of their own from 7.30pm till Midnight. On til 15 December, key buildings in the district will be lit up in teal. And yes, it sure is pretty.
6. ION Orchard Pinwheel Tree
When you’re done checking out all the lights on Orchard, walk over to ION Orchard for its magical interactive pinwheel tree. Give this pretty tree a spin and watch it light up!
7. LEGO Festive Carnival
Your LEGO lovin’ tots will love the festive LEGO displays at 13 Capitaland malls around Singapore, including Plaza Singapore, Tampines Mall, Junction 8, and Funan! Check out tge colourful scenes made completely out of LEGO bricks, including a 20-metre and 15-metre Rock & Roller Coaster at Plaza Singapura and Junction 8 respectively.

8. Christmas with Singa the Kindness Lion, Waterway Point
If you happen to be near Punggol this festive season, then be sure to pop into Waterway Point. Check out their novel take on the Christmas tree, created using 50 Singa the Kindness Lions! Each lion displays a message of kindness from the local community to give you that warm and fuzzy feeling we all need this Christmas. What’s more, you can also get involved by snapping a selfie and your own kindness message. For every submission on Insta, Waterway Point will donate one bag of 5kg rice to The Food Bank Singapore. Now that’s what we call Christmas spirit!

9. Sparkling Christmas at Jewel Changi Airport
Jewel Changi Airport is a fun-filled family day out at the best of times, and that’s before you add the Christmas activities to the mix. With everything from a sparkly 16-metre-tall Christmas tree to magical snowfall in Shiseido Forest Valley, and not to mention endless Christmas lights, it really is the place to be this festive season.
When: Until the 3 January 2021. See the Shiseido Forest Valley snowfall at 6.30pm, 7.30pm, 8.30pm, 9.30pm and 10.30pm. Every $30 nett spend at Jewel Changi Airport admits 2 persons to Shiseido Forest Valley (children under 3 go free).

10. Festive fun at Capitol Singapore and CHIJMES
There are so many Christmassy treats in store over at Capitol Singapore and Chijmes this December. Transformed into the Land of Snowflakes, you’ll be treated to snowfall each night, as well as a singing Christmas tree! Let’s not forget the twinkling Christmas lights either, which are made extra special by the whimsical wonderland, projected onto the iconic CHIJMES Hall come nightfall. The kids are going to be super impressed by this one!

11. Marching into Christmas at Vivocity
We love the festive decs and lights at Vivocity this year. Visit Level 1 for tree snaps and to check out the lifesize Nutcrackers and friends. Don’t leave without heading up to the Sky Park though, here you’ll find the icing on the cake with a 15-metre-tall Christmas tree surrounded by presents and more festive Nutcrackers. Head after 7pm when the tree’s Christmas lights are switched on for even more wow factor.
