Time to lace up and get the family moving: ready, steady... go!
This year we’ve vowed to try and get up, dressed and out the door way faster, head outdoors more, AND attempt to get into better physical shape – affordably! And while exploring the parks and neighbourhoods around the island, and checking off the best playground list will get us so far with our plans, we think we’ve found just the thing to ace it all. Time to strap on our trainers, head to a starting line and go for gold! Yep: family fun runs in Singapore: we have you in our sights.
The Spartan Kids Race at Singapore Sports Hub, will test the small people to their mad-scrambling limits on a seriously awesome obstacle course! They can try either the 800m, the 1.6km or the 3.2km races and will not only come back full of smiles, but full of mud too…

We’re going to the zoo, zoo, zoo, but not just to see the cool animals, but to get fit too. Bring your own monkeys for the annual Safrari Zoo Run and dash around the Singapore Zoo, River Safari and Night Safari saying hello to orangutans and giraffes on your way. This is the run’s 11th edition, and we hear tale (or should we say tail?) of more sustainable initiatives, race categories and all round wild fun.

We’re big on teaching our kiddos not to be wasteful, so the Income Eco Run is a great excuse not only to get in some exercise, but to remind the whole family that being eco-friendly is soooo important. Choose either the 800km Kids’ Dash, the 1.2km Kid’s Dash or the 5km Zero Waste Run.
When: 28 April 2019
Minimum age: 4 years for the 800m, 9 years for the 1.2km and 13 years for the 5km

Why stop at one race when you can run three? The Performance Series will be held all around Singapore (so a great opp for some sightseeing!) on various dates throughout 2019. Locations are yet to be confirmed but there will be two 5km and three 10km options suitable for families, so with so many races to get ready for, you may just end up making running your new family thing!
When: 8 May 2019, 18 August 2019 and 10 November 2019
Minimum age: 5 years for 5km, and 12 years for 10km

A great excuse to get the family to the East Coast Park, the Singapore Kindness Run is the opportunity not only to get a bit fitter, but to remind our kids how important it is to be kind. Always! The family run stretches to 3.5km, but if you have a speedy ‘lil one, they may want to join the 800m Kids’ Dash. And if you can’t make the event, have a look at the option of sponsoring an underprivileged child to take part!
