Finding plus-size clothes and bigger shoe sizes in Singapore

H&M offers great plus-size clothes in Singapore
Let's be upfront: when we say 'plus-size' we actually mean 'clothes to fit every body'. Finding clothes to fit smaller frames in Singapore isn't so tricky, but anything over a size 12 can be a bit of a challenge. We're saving you the hassle with our go-to list of outlets with larger sizes.

We’ve all been put on this earth with our own unique, amazing body – some of us are short, some tall, some naturally petite, some of us can’t quite manage to lose the baby weight, some of us sit comfortably at a size 16. And we’ll take any opportunity to say this – we are so lucky to have our health, our families and to be loved. Worrying about our weight, shape or size is not healthy and it’s not important. We’ll continue to focus on the stuff that matters!

But, in this corner of the world, it can sometimes prove tricky to find clothing in larger sizes. It’s just a matter of supply and demand. So….where to go to find clothes that will fit a body larger than a size 12. And where to find shoes bigger than a size 8 (is it just us, or did your feet turn positively Hobbit-like after babies). We’ve scoured the island – and the internet – to track down our fave stores that offer clothes and shoes for all shapes and sizes.

H&M

Yay for high street brands like H&M leading the charge when it comes to larger sizes! We must admit, it is nice to go into a physical store to touch, feel and try on clothes before you buy them. Albeit not the hugest range, H&M stores across Singapore stock its H&M+ brand, which goes up to a European size 56 (UK size 30, US size 26).

In addition to the actual plus-size brand, H&M+, you will sometimes find H&M’s range available up to a European size 46 (UK size 20, US size 16) in store. And if you can’t find what you’re looking for in a physical store, go online!

H&M also has a fairly decent range of shoes which go up to a size 42, but you may be best looking online at its range to make your purchase.

H&M stores are located across Singapore. Delivery costs $6.90 and takes seven to 10 working days.

ASOS stocks its own brand, plus a whole heap of other high street favourites including Warehouse, New Look and River Island at pretty affordable prices.

It does have an exclusive plus-size brand, ASOS Curve, which goes up to a size 28, but even its main selection of clothes will often go up to a size 18. They cater for petite ladies, as well as tall girls too.

For those ladies out there who have larger feet, ASOS has you covered! At latest count, it had almost 250 styles going up to a UK size 10 (that’s a 43 or US size 12).

Standard delivery takes seven days and is free for orders over $20. Express delivery takes three days and is free for orders over $250.

If you’re into the baggy, monochrome look, this is the shop for you. We love the minimalist styling and muted block colours at COS. Whilst it only stocks up to a size L (sizing on their site says this is equivalent to a UK 18), the cut of the clothing means that you’re not restricted by tight fitting styles.

We love the cut of COS dresses – they’re perfect for covering up the dreaded mum-tum and are often breastfeeding-friendly, with zips or buttons down the front.
