School holidays are here and so is that battle to pry your teen or tween away from their screens! Parents, save yourselves the trouble with our curated list of school holiday activities that kids aged 9 to 19 will actually want to do.
As a parent of a hormonal teen, I can tell you that they are not impossible to please. Hard but not impossible. Planning things to do and school holiday activities might seem counterintuitive to what we know of our tweens and teens. But really, they are still on the cusp of adulthood, flaying between independence and acting like a kid. Some may have outgrown holiday camps and some may want to do fun things with their friends, but there’ll always be a space for spending time with you. And remember, it’s only cringey to be seen with your parent if you’re doing cringey stuff! They’ll gladly leave their screens for school holiday activities like travelling and anything on our curated list of teen-approved ideas and things to do.
What’s on for the teens and tweens during the June school holidays
Join them at gaming in real life at the Minecraft Experience

Watch their faces light up when they step into iconic biomes and let them take the lead guiding you through the missions. This is the first in Asia and it’s only around until 13 September 2026.

Play ping pong and hang out with your teens at Top Table

You don’t have to be an expert at playing ping pong because this is where you play the game for fun. (And if your child is on the school team, they’ll be mighty pleased!) Top Table turns the sport into a social activity in a bar-like space with food and drinks. It’s less intimidating and way cooler than playing on an actual court, so if you’re trying to get your teen or tween to move a little more, this is the place to go. Plus, they’ll get to hang out like little adults with you. Bored of ping pong? There’s foosball, darts, and an F1 simulator too!

Make dining fun again with experiential dining experiences
At a time when they are always hungry, food can pry them away from their screens. So, make it fun and memorable and they’ll always look forward to dining adventures with you. There are plenty of immersive dining experiences out there and the ones that have a permanent spot in my teen’s mind are Wonderland Upside Down and NOX Dine in the Dark. One is a theatrical dining experience inspired by the adventures of Alice in Wonderland, which features a five-course meal served alongside humour, action, and a lot of anticipation. The other shows you what it’s like to eat as a visually-impaired person. The three-course menu is served by visually-impaired hosts who will guide you throughout the experience. You’ll not leave feeling the same.
Dressing up for fun with your teens and tweens
This is one school holiday activity for the teens and tweens who love dressing up in different costumes. Play pretend as Nonyas and Babas at the Peranakan dress up station locations at Sentosa’s Sensory Scape. The rentals includes costumes and accessories, and you’ll have two full hours to take pictures and videos against the verdant background of Mt. Imbiah. Suggest taking a walk to the colonial building that’s 1-Flowerhill for pretty pictures and a nice brunch or lunch. If the C-drama bug has gotten to you, Yagyo Haven is the place for hanfu dress ups in Singapore. The experience includes makeup, costume, and a photo-taking session with a professional photographer. They also offer spa services like head spa, therapeutic facials, and massages. Unfortunately, they only accept female clients for now.
