In the third episode of Growing Pains Season 2, we talk to Christine Field-Hall, mum of two young boys and a mum blogger. We learn more about her move to Singapore, and her top tips if you’re planning to follow suit or just arrived recently.

Christine is a mummy blogger and influencer who was based in Hong Kong before her big move to the Little Red Dot. She started her blog Mummy Diary HK to share her motherhood journey and experiences while she was pregnant with Joshua, her first child. Christine is also a contributor to the HoneyKids Asia website!

02:59 – Why the move to Singapore? After three unsuccessful attempts, Christine finally landed in our sunny shores this year. According to her, they only had a month to pack all their stuff! “It was a good decision; I think it was the right decision to move.” Christine also shares what she knew about Singapore, and a milestone that took place while she was here previously.
05:40 – Christine explains the process of moving from Hong Kong to Singapore, and there was a lot of paperwork to be done! However, the biggest challenge for her was trying to find the right school in Singapore for Joshua. “It’s a big process,” Ange notes. The two also touch on the differences between Singapore and Hong Kong, and how the Field-Halls are settling into their new country.
20:28 – Is Singapore home, truly? Having been raised and lived in various countries, Christine is able to adapt to Singapore easily. Christine and Ange then discuss living away from family and friends, and how Singapore being a multicultural country will be a boon to Christine’s two boys.
34:16 – What’s the most important thing one must do before moving to Singapore? “Find an apartment first!” Christine advises with a laugh. She also suggests considering looking into the school for your children. Ange agrees with Christine’s sentiments and shares her personal experience.
