New Disney classics, Barbie, and Paw Patrol take 2; there are so many films hitting the silver screen in 2023! Here are all the new family movies you'll want to watch with the kids this year.
Sitting in relative peace and quiet with a big bucket of popcorn on a trip to the movies is one of our favourite easy activities to do with the kids (it’s also a great way to sneak in a mum time-out power nap…). So when the rain is pouring, and you’re looking for wet day winners, or you just want a rest in the air con for a few hours, you’re going to need this list of all the new movies at the cinema scheduled for release in Singapore in 2023.
Where to watch movies on the big screen in Singapore

If you’re looking for a cinema in Singapore, there are several options to choose from, and you are sure to find a complex near you. Shaw Theatres have regular cinema halls, but they also offer huge IMAX screens, a Lumiere experience with roomy leather recliners, and Dreamers at Jewel, which is the first theatre designed with families in mind. There are comfy sofas, and kids are easily forgiven for popcorn spills and being a little noisier than in a typical cinema!
Golden Village cinemas are scattered throughout the island, and they also offer a Gold Class option with plush reclining seats, a lightweight blanket, and premium food and beverage choices. This is great for a date night or a special movie moment!
The Projector at Golden Mile Tower is primarily known for screening art house films and has an old-world vibe, however they do show the occasional blockbuster! Often there are combined screenings with talks and thought provoking discussions.
New movies now showing at Singapore cinemas in 2023
1. Murder mystery lovers won’t want to miss Poirot’s latest adventure, ‘A Haunting in Venice’

Fans of murder mysteries and the inimitable Poirot (played by Kenneth Branagh in this recent collection of films), will not want to miss this latest adventure! After the fun romps in A Death on the Nile and Murder on the Orient Express, we can’t wait to unravel the much darker mystery of A Haunting in Venice. These films always make us feel as though we’ve been transported to another time and place, and we are sure this latest offering won’t disappoint. Especially with a cast that features the legend that is Michelle Yeoh! We’ll be booking a Gold Class date night for this one, or heading to the Projector for a more art-house vibe.
