People People Brewing Co.

Fresh beer, wood-fire cooking, and arcade games to keep the kids entertained? Yes please! People People Brewing Co, is the hot new spot we’re loving, especially for leisurely Sundays. People People Family Day runs every Sunday from 11am to 3pm with a colouring menu, a dedicated playzone and sports screenings for adults.
The menu here is built for sharing and pairs beautifully with their craft beers. You won’t go wrong with loaded nachos, swordfish tacos, or crispy chicken tenders. Don’t miss the wood-fired sourdough pizzas either; we loved the Pulled Pork Sanger. Kids are welcome to share, but why do that when there’s a Little People Menu with Little People Burgers, Little People Pizzas, and more.
Quick tip: if you’re still on the waitlist for a seat at Burnt Ends, you’ll be glad to know that David Pynt, the chef of Burnt Ends, is also behind the menu here.
The 9,000 sq ft restaurant and social space is perfect for gatherings and celebrations (we know it because we ran our inaugural Beers & Braids event there). For something cosier, book the private room, complete with its own taps and an exclusive peek into the brewery.
Kids menu: Yes, $12 per dish
Best for: Sunday brunch, family gatherings and celebrations, craft beer for grown-ups and arcade games to keep the kids entertained.
Where: People People Brewing Co, 26 Sentosa Gateway, Unit Nos #B1-209 to #B1-217, 098138
POP MART POP Bakery

POP MART fan or not, if you love cute things, POP Bakery is the place for you. We’re not kidding when we say everything here is impossibly cute; just look at our faces on Instagram. From the decor to the food and drinks, every single detail has been thought through to bring the POP MART universe to life. You’ll be greeted by Molly near the entrance with Skull Panda leading you into the seating area. Even the chairs are themed. The cafe sits on the second floor, just above the POP Mart retail shop, so snag a window seat for panoramic views and gorgeous natural light.
The themed desserts and pastries here are really on point, and we especially love the Twinkle Twinkle Coconut Mousse. Twinkle Twinkle sits in mango popping boba, with coconut mousse layered with biscuit crumbs, all served in a coconut husk that’s made of chocolate. PUCKY arrives in a xiao long bao basket and it is a jiggly almond tofu jelly! There’s even a pair of chopsticks (really biscuits!) and a chocolate dip made to look like black vinegar. Definitely try the popsicles; there’s the Twinkle Twinkle Twin Popsicle that’s so much fun to break apart, and a Singapore-exclusive Twinkle Twinkle Merlion!
Did we mention there’s meet and greet too? Spend a minimum of $40 per person or $80 per table to qualify for the meet and greet sessions which run three times a day from 2pm to 3pm, 4pm to 5pm, and 6pm to 7pm. Reservations is required for dinin in.
Kids menu: No kids menu needed because kids will love everything here
Best for: POP Mart fans, cute character-themed treats and plenty of Instagram-worthy moments with the kids.

The Coach Restaurant
First, there was The Coach Coffee Shop and now, we have The Coach Restaurant, a modern New York steakhouse set against the Rain Vortex at Jewel Changi Airport. As the original American house of leather, Coach has elegantly dressed the space in tanned leather upholstery, even suspending the iconic yellow New York taxi from the ceiling! Kiddos who love cars are going to get a kick out of this one.
Besides activity sheets to keep the little ones busy, you can grab front-row seats by the open kitchen to watch the chefs in action. Or settle in by the Rain Vortex to soak up the cool mist, it really is refreshing. And if you want the best of both worlds, the plush leather seats in the middle offer views of the kitchen action and the mist.
At the helm of the kitchen is chef Kurt Sombero, formerly of Burnt Ends, so he knows a thing or two about wood-fire cooking. You’ll taste it in the USDA Prime cuts, the lemon thyme chicken, and even in the cheeseburger from the kids’ menu. We also loved the Maryland crab cakes and the cutest little cream cheese and caviar bagel. Parents, if you’re in the mood for a tipple or two, they’ve got an extensive selection of wines and cocktails to match
Kids menu: Yes, $12 per dish, including kids’ favourites like pizza, hot dog, burger, and pasta.
Best for: A special family meal n Jewel with wood-fired steaks, Rain Vortex views and a suspended yellow taxi that car-loving kids will adore.

JIHO Hanbang Samgyetang

Think Singapore’s climate is way too hot for Ginseng Chicken soup? Think again. Korea eats Samgyetang during the hottest summer months to nourish the body and restore energy and now, SBCD, the popular Korean tofu stew chain, has brought JIHO Hanbang Samgyetang to Singapore. It is one of Korea’s most recognised samgyetang simmering the essence of hanbang (Korean herbal medicine) into every bowl. The herbs are packed in a teabag so you can easily adjust the intensity while soaking up the health benefits.
Go for the Healthy Samygetang to relieve fatigue, restore energy, and support joint health, or the Beauty Samgyetang for its anti-aging and skin nourishing effects. Not a chicken fan? The Cheonma Duck Health Soup is a solid alternative. If you’re out with the kids, the porridge here comes in handy. The slurp-worthy samgyjejuk porridge is cooked in the same nourishing broth, making it an easy, no-fuss meal for little ones. One thing we will not miss is the Squid and Minari Salad. Wrap it up with avocado and seaweed and it’s a full flavour bomb in your mouth. Fair warning, it’s a little spicy, so maybe save this one for yourself.
Kids menu: No, but samgyejuk is a good option for kids
Best for: Restorative Korean ginseng soups and kid-friendly samgyejuk for the little ones.

SKOSH hand roll and matcha bar

Their first store along Bencoolen Street is already a big hit with NAFA students, and we think this newest concept at Scotts Square makes for a great pit stop for shopping families. The hand rolls are filled with Yamagata rice, wrapped in seaweed from Setouchi, and crowned with generous toppings ranging from seafood like maguro, salmon, and snow crab to land proteins like wagyu and chicken.
Our top picks: the snow crab with ponzu pearls, zesty and refreshing with every bite; the samsui scallion chicken, which really does taste like chicken rice; and the Hokkaido N34 wagyu striploin with yakiniku sauce, rich and satisfying. Some rolls come slightly spiced, so check the ingredients closely if your little ones can’t handle heat. Otherwise, you can always put out the heat with a matcha parfait or the store exclusive miso brown sugar matcha.
Order the rolls individually or as a set of three or five. Perfect for lunch or a snack break.
Kids menu: No, kids get to choose their own hand rolls
Best for: A quick family lunch or snack break between shopping, with hand rolls that are easy to mix, match and share.
