Wondering where to see Christmas lights in Singapore? Despite being a year-round sunshine city, the festive season always sees the Little Red Dot transforming into a Christmas wonderland. We’re talking gorgeous light displays accompanied by elaborately decorated Christmas trees at every shopping precinct. So, in between looking for Christmas decorations, gift shopping and hanging out with Santa, you’ll want to take some time to check out these twinkling places in Singapore where holiday lights will really ignite your yuletide spirit.
Where to see Christmas lights in Singapore: 2023 edition
1. Orchard Road Christmas light-up
Hit up the whole of Orchard Road and prepare to be dazzled by sparkling festive lights and colourful set-ups at every turn. This awesome light display starts at Orchard Road and ends at Plaza Singapura. We’re so excited for the lights, massive arches and festive decorations including this year’s Christmas tree outside ION!

2. Christmas Wonderland at Gardens by The Bay
One of our all-time fave Christmas lights displays has made a return this year! And just like previous years, this year’s event is another behemoth celebration at Gardens by the Bay. Plenty of things to do here: marvel at the spectacular Christmas lights and the Garden Rhapsody Light and Sound Show, have a go and do your best at the carnival games, do some shopping at the Christmas market… Psst, admission is free for children below three years of age with every accompanying adult.

3. Marina Bay Sands Christmas Light-up 2023
Head over to MBS for a breathtaking visual spectacle of a Christmas floating forest at The Shoppes! An ensemble of Christmas trees dressed in fairy curtain lights, along with rows and rows of beautiful lights illuminate the integrated resort in a resplendent festive glow. The iconic three towers, along with ArtScience Museum, will also be lit up externally with animations and laser projections every night in the season’s colours.

4. Festive magic at Paragon Shopping Centre
Paragon has partnered with Hong Kong Disneyland Resort to announce the exciting launch of its new Frozen-themed land. To kick off the festivities, islanders can delight in spotting a 6-metre tall Olaf’s invitation to Arendelle right at the heart of Orchard Road in Singapore. Plenty of photo ops for Frozen fans! Additionally, there’s a treasure trove of shopping and entertainment surprises waiting at the mall for the entire family to enjoy. Don’t miss the chance to visit Olaf – there’s an abundance of fun awaiting you!

5. Snow showers at VivoCity
With an awesome inflatable playground (including water play!) and a dazzling 15-metre-tall tree, a trip to Vivo is well worth it this festive season! Make sure you stick around every evening as snow showers will go off at 7.30pm – kids will love this one!

6. Raffles Place
Bustling office district by day, colourful festive playground by night! Raffles Place is back with their festive installations from 7pm to 12 midnight daily, with interactive light installations and decorations located all around the Raffles Place precinct. Motion-sensor light displays can be found along Raffles Place Park in red, green and white dazzling lights, while the festive installations come in the form of a towering Christmas Tree and a gigantic Christmas Arch.

7. Christmas Light-Up at Quayside Isle
Sentosa is one of our favourite family spots, and Quayside Isle has pulled out all the stops to commemorate the Christmas season. Marvel at the festive decoration lit up in a glorious sea of sparkling, shimmering lights along the waterfront. Don’t forget to snap loads of photos for the gram!

8. Christmas at Jewel Changi Airport
Jewel Changi Airport is a fun-filled family day out at the best of times, and that’s before you add the Christmas activities to the mix. Be dazzled by Christmas sparkles at Jewel with many underwater-themed elements! Catch the exclusive Light & Sound show at HSBC Rain Vortex and the bioluminescent light displays at Canopy Park. Jewel really is the place to be this festive season!

9. A Universal Christmas at USS
Resorts World Sentosa is once again pulling out all the stops for its Christmas extravaganza. A ticket during the festive season doesn’t just mean exhilarating rollercoaster rides (check out our guide to a day at Universal Studios) – it also means loads of glittering lights, tinsel, holly, and Xmas-themed character meet and greets!

Spend Christmas with prehistoric creatures
When you’ve done your Xmas shopping at Jewel and are after festive fun, how about checking out the action over at Changi Airport Connector? If you’ve got Dino fans at home, they’re sure to be impressed. Be mesmerised by Dino Glow, a 3km light-up along Jurassic Mile, as you walk beside life-sized dinosaurs. The colours and bioluminescence of the world of Avatar inspire the whimsical path of lights. While you’re here, go on a puzzle hunt or unlock distance milestones by running or riding a bicycle. Good luck getting the kids to leave!

Trees of the World at Singapore Botanic Gardens
Here’s another option to enjoy pretty Christmas lights. Plus, it’s away from the crowds! Trees of the World is a community-led event that sees 200 trees being decorated by donors, community groups, and members of the public. The light-up takes place daily from 7pm to midnight. Once the festive display is over, the trees will be planted in nature reserves, parks, and gardens across the country. What a lovely initiative! If you’re keen to contribute, click this link.

Have a Holly Jolly Christmas at Capitol Singapore and Chijmes
There are so many Christmassy treats in store over at Capitol Singapore and Chijmes this December. Transformed into the Land of Snowflakes, you’ll be treated to snowfall each night, as well as a singing Christmas tree! Let’s not forget the twinkling Christmas lights either, which are made extra special by the whimsical wonderland projected onto the iconic Chijmes Hall come nightfall. Get the kiddos to spot the secret Santa roaming around the two locations and get a free mall voucher from him!

See glowing Christmas trees along Marina Bay Waterfront Promenade
Get into the holiday spirit by taking a walk along Marina Bay Waterfront Promenade, where you can spot Christmas trees adorned with lights. These decorations are part of ChariTrees 2022, a fund-raising initiative that aims to benefit three charities. This event recognises and celebrates the community heroes who have chosen to serve the challenging causes of the physically and mentally challenged in our society.

Fly to the Stars at Raffles City Singapore
What’s Christmas without a dazzling tree? This year, Raffles City Singapore teams up with renowned French brand Guerlain for Fly to the Stars, a bespoke 15-metre tree decked out with more than 300 artfully-crafted decorations of bees, a galaxy of stars, and honeycombs that hang like picture-perfect frames. Step inside and be wowed by the concentric rings of LED lights.

The Christmas Odyssey at Wisma Atria
Wisma Atria has collaborated with Visual Merchandising students from ITE College Central once again with futuristic takes on Christmas decorations. Marvel at the immersive Christmas installation and light show with changing coloured lights, which are located at the exterior atrium of the mall facing Orchard Road. Bring your cameras because you’ll want to capture loads of photos and videos!

Dazzling Enchantment at Ion Orchard
When you’re done checking out all the lights on Orchard Road, walk over to the outdoor plaza at ION Orchard for its iconic Christmas lights. You can also look forward to this year’s outdoor masterpiece – the largest Dior star in Asia! The installation, a partnership between the mall and Parfums Christian Dior, stands 15m tall and consists of 20,000 lightbulbs. Without a doubt, it’s a festive sight to behold…

Discover larger-than-life festive sculptures around Raffles Place
The Raffles Place precinct is all decked out with iconic festive ornaments this year. Whip out your phone at selected locations, and you’ll be able to control the lights’ colours and watch them dance to selected Christmas tunes on your mobile.
