All the attractions, all the fun: we give you the lowdown on Canopy Park at Jewel Changi Airport...
Who’d have thought that going to the airport JUST FOR FUN would be a thing? Well, here in Singapore it totally is – especially since we aren’t going on any holidays any time soon! We’ve always sung the praises of Changi Airport being so kid-friendly, and with the opening of Jewel we have even more reasons to swing by, sans flight. In fact, we’re pretty sure a family photo in front of the HSBC Rain Vortex (pictured above) is a rite of passage for every Singaporean. One of our fave things to do when we’re in the area? Spending time with the kids at Canopy Park at Jewel Changi, AKA the indoor green haven that the HoneyKids fams can’t get enough of. So without further ado, here’s our parent’s guide to Canopy Park…

Where and what is Canopy Park?
Situated on Level 5 of Jewel, Canopy Park is a 14,000 square metre recreational park full of awesome attractions dedicated to one thing: fun! Both kids and adults will really enjoy exploring each of its sights – keep on reading to plan your visit and work out which elements best cater to your family. One more thing: “Have a sparkling time!” (You’ll hear that a lot!)

When: Mon–Thu: 10am–10pm; Fri–Sun, eve & PH: 10am–11pm

Things to see and do at Canopy Park at Jewel Changi
1. Hedge Maze
Hello, Singapore’s largest hedge maze! Lose yourself in the foliage as you weave your way through the fun maze. Our kids loved the wall of colourful, motion-sensor flowers that open in a wave effect as you walk past. We also had some good fun shouting and listening to messages through interconnected pipes (you’ll know what we mean when you’re there!). Once you’re done, walk up the spiral staircase to the viewing platform, where you’ll be rewarded with a great aerial view of the maze and vicinity. Psst… you’ll need to leave your stroller behind for this one.
Cost: $12 for adults and $8 for children. Includes Canopy Park admission. Discount for Singapore residents.
2. Mirror Maze
Step inside the world’s first mirror maze set within a garden and prepare to befuddle your brain! You know those foam noodles you play with in the pool? Well, they’ll take on new meaning here, as they’re used as ‘way-finding sticks’ so you can test out what’s ahead of you and avoid bumping into mirror walls. Could be terrifying or awesome for very small toddling humans – we’ll leave it to you to decide!
Cost: $15 for adults and $10 for children. Includes Canopy Park admission. Discount for Singapore residents.
3. Topiary Walk
Keep your phones handy, folks – this area is all about the ‘gram. Check out the animal topiaries made from flowers, plants and natural materials, such as these wise monkeys made from hairy coconut fibres. The pathways are nice and wide (aka pram-friendly), which is always a bonus if you’ve got a teeny tot!
Cost: Included in Canopy Park admission.
4. Discovery Slides
Is it a slide? Is it a piece of artwork? Who knows, but when it’s this much fun, we’re not fussed! Our littlies were too small for this height-restricted slide at Canopy Park at Jewel. But it didn’t stop us parents from tag-teaming so we could sample the awesomeness. There are four different ways to make your way back down to earth, so be sure to give them all a whirl. Also note the safety gear is compulsory, especially since we’re talking about a near-vertical slide: helmet, elbow and knee guards. You also get to slink inside a sleeping bag-esque mat to reduce risk of friction burns! #hardcore

5. Foggy Bowls
To you, it might just be some astro-turfed ‘grassy’ bumps that burp out the occasional cloud of smoke. But to kids, this is a magical, awe-inspiring sight! Toddlers and littlies will love sitting in a ‘bowl’ and waiting for the mist to envelope them in a dreamy fog. Let their imagination run wild – and prepare to be here for a while… we couldn’t even bribe our kids away.

6. Manulife Sky Nets
There are two sets of Manulife Sky Nets to take your pick from: a Walking version, where you’re suspended 25 metres above the ground, or a Bouncing version, where you can leap along a 250m-long giant net.
7. Petal Garden
It’s just like Gardens by the Bay, albeit on a much smaller scale. Get up close to stunning blooms and snap some pretty shots amid the flora. We likey.
8. Canopy Bridge
Disclaimer: we didn’t experience this one as we didn’t see the point of forking out for a viewing deck when we could just as easily get a great shot of the HSBC Rain Vortex – for free – elsewhere. This, however, is the closest you’ll get to the waterfall. And there’s also a glass-bottom section on the bridge, so it’s not for the vertically challenged.
Cost: $8. Rate valid for one 30-minute session.
9. Shiseido Forest Valley
For a tranquil break from all that Canopy Park fun above, head to the Shiseido Forest Valley and marvel at the magical surroundings! Check out the SENSE installation at the west trail with illuminating trees and soothing music. The little ones will love exploring this garden wonderland!
Plus… there’s a Family Lounge!
To make your parenting life waaaay easier, there’s a Family Lounge on the same level as Canopy Park. Pop in for child-friendly feeding chairs, a seating area for little ones, private cubicles for nursing, nappy changing stations, plus hot and cold water dispensers. You’ll also be able to recharge your phone there, too!
