Doing your back-to-school prep? Avoid the lost-and-found by labelling all the kids' belongings!
As parents, there are many things we like to avoid. Lice – what a nightmare. Sunburn. The dreaded lost-and-found box. So what’s a mum to do when their child’s belongings have a habit of disappearing into thin air? Our answer? Name labels!
Now is the perfect time to get organised once and for all this back-to-school shopping season. We say gather up their school uniforms, water bottles, stationery, lunchboxes, backpacks and anything else that can possibly be labelled, and pop a name label on it. But where to get these handy name stickers, you ask? We’ve pulled together a handy list of the best places to track down iron-on name labels for clothes and stickers of all shapes and sizes in Singapore, and beyond! As Beyonce said, ‘If you like it then you’d better put a ̶r̶i̶n̶g̶ label on it…

StickerKid
With a super-fast turnaround of just 24 hours, if you’ve left labelling the kiddos’ stuff until the last minute, StickerKid (pictured top) has you covered. We’re big fans of its value packs! Otherwise, take your pick from the various name stickers or iron-on labels. The designs are adorable too, and we give it the thumbs up for using eco-responsible inks. Psst… we also think the customisable wristbands are a fab idea. They allow you to leave important information – like allergies, diet restrictions and contact details – right on your child’s wrist to keep them safe. Perfect for camps! So. Much. Yes.

Label of Love Studio
We love a great Singapore brand and Label of Love Studio is one of them. It believes that function and good design can co-exist and great quality doesn’t need to cost a lot. As well as your usual personalised offerings, there’s a great local twist to this name label site. Think iron-on labels, Chinese Zodiac T-shirts and rompers, and National Day clothes, too. There are also chops (stamps) and great value label bundles.

Tiny Me

HoneyKids mummy Amy bought kids’ name labels and stickers for both her tiddlies from Tiny Me, and it’s easy to see why. The designs are so darn cute, and we love how you can customise colours and fonts to put your own spin on things. We totally dig the Name Labels Value Pack for a good mix of everything, but you can also pick up personalised rucksacks, wall stickers and name puzzles. The iron-on clothing labels and name stickers are also microwave-, dishwasher- and freezer-safe, and are coated for extra scratch resistance. There’s a whole lot to like, that’s for sure.

Stuck On You

Why go to all the trouble of plastering your child’s name on all their clothes, utensils and stationery, only for the stickers to peel off or fade to nothing? Stuck on You is an Australian company that prides itself on the quality and durability of its labels. We give it top marks for the kooky designs and the ability to see a preview of what your finished product will look like. The value packs are a good money-saver and contain a mix of stickers, iron-on labels, shoe labels and bag tags. Not only that, it also sells personalised rucksacks, awesome bento boxes, stationery and stamps. There are even more subtle labels for an older clientele, such as if you have a parent in aged care. They really have thought of everything. A top pick, we say!

No-frills? No problem! A E Stamp offers the most basic iron-on labels: in four different sizes, readable fonts (none of that fancy stuff), and printed in black only. TweetPaperie
TweetPaperie is a homegrown studio that offers personalised name labels in various designs and cuts. Go for the hologram or glitter design if the kiddos want a fancy label on their belongings. We recommend the waterproof labels which can withstand repeated washes and can be applied on practically anything. Not fond of the white border around the designs? Go for the tattoo option – we’re so tempted to get this for ourselves, too!

The DIY option
Of course, you could just do everything yourself with an at-home label machine. Yes, there won’t be unicorns and pirates on your creations. But you can tinker with the font and colours, so there is a degree of creativity. And there’s no wait time, of course! Need to label that spoon? Done, in two seconds flat! OK, so we may be taking all this labelling business a step too far, but we must admit it’s a tad addictive once you get started… Other pros with your label maker: you can save each family member’s details in the machine’s memory, so printing really is a doddle. We’ve had our trusty Brother PT-D210 for a while now and it’s always been fab, but do look around for the features that best suit you. (Try Evergreen, Home n Office and Lazada as your first ports of call.)
Let’s get labelling, kids!
