Let's be upfront: when we say 'plus-size' we actually mean 'clothes to fit every body'. But since finding clothes over a size 12 can be a bit of a challenge in Singapore, we're saving you the hassle with our go-to list of stores with larger sizes.
We’ve all been put on this earth with our own unique, amazing body. Some of us are short, some tall, some naturally petite, some of us can’t quite manage to lose the baby weight, and some of us sit comfortably at a size 16. And we’ll take any opportunity to say this – we are so lucky to have our health, our families and to be loved. Worrying about our weight, shape or size is not healthy and it’s not important. So we’ll continue to focus on the stuff that matters!
But, in this corner of the world, it can sometimes prove tricky to find clothing in larger sizes in Singapore. It’s just a matter of supply and demand. So….where to go to find “plus-size” clothes that will fit a body larger than a size 12? And where to find shoes bigger than a size 8 (is it just us, or did your feet turn positively Hobbit-like after babies)? We’ve scoured the island – and the internet – to track down our fave stores in Singapore that offer clothes and shoes for all shapes and sizes.
WHERE TO BUY PLUS-SIZE CLOTHES IN SINGAPORE
H&M

Yay for high street brands like H&M leading the charge when it comes to larger sizes! Albeit not the hugest range, H&M stores across Singapore stock its H&M+ brand, which goes up to a European size 56 (UK size 30, US size 26). In addition to the actual plus-size brand, you will also find H&M’s regular range available up to a European size 46 (UK size 20, US size 16) in store. And if you can’t find what you’re looking for in a physical store, go online! H&M also has a fairly decent range of shoes which go up to a size 42, but you may be best looking online to make your purchase.
The Curve Cult

An actual physical store dedicated to larger sizes? We love it! Stocking UK size 16 and over, The Curve Cult offers a generous selection of tops, trousers, skirts and dresses – perfect smart-casual clothes for work or a night out. What we love most about The Curve Cult is that its clothing reflects a vibrant woman who is confident in her shape. Its collection includes trusty basics like tees and jeans, pretty shirts and tops, plus beautiful formal wear.
ASOS

ASOS… the old faithful. This online site has a huge range of clothes to suit all tastes. You’ll find active wear, swimwear, casual clothes, going out gear, formal wear and even maternity clothes. ASOS stocks its own brand, plus a whole heap of other high street favourites including Warehouse, New Look and River Island at pretty affordable prices. It does have an exclusive plus-size brand, ASOS Curve, which goes up to a size 28. But even its main selection of clothes will often go up to a size 18. They cater for petite ladies, as well as tall girls, too. And for those ladies out there who have larger feet, ASOS has you covered! On our last count, it had almost 250 styles going up to a UK size 10 (that’s a 43 or US size 12)!
Hue Fashions

Top marks to this chain of stores stocking a size S right up to 5XL. Hue Fashions has four outlets across the island stocking a range of cute dresses and tops. You’ll find lots of basic shifts to wear to the office and pretty tops for nights out, all within a reasonable price range.
Change Lingerie

Got a bigger bust and want to try your bra before you buy it? Head to Change Lingerie at Cluny Court for a brilliant selection of bras and knickers – and we’re not just talking old granny numbers either! We’re talking pretty, lacy minimisers, matching knickers, swimwear and sports bras from an A cup to an M cup. The friendly staff will happily help you with sizing, fitting and recommend suitable styles too.
Marks & Spencer

UK retail giant Marks & Spencer is alive and well in Singapore. Whilst the range here is not quite as comprehensive as in the UK, you will be able to find a selection of women’s clothing up to a UK size 20, as well as bras up to an E cup. Perfect for when you can’t wait for an online delivery!
Next

If you’ve not visited the Next website yet, do it now! It has a wide selection of women’s clothes in bigger sizes. It offers plus-size clothing up to a size 22 and bras up to a 38G. In addition to having larger sizes, Next also stocks petite and tall ranges – finally trousers that are the right length! Next also has plenty of shoes up to a size EU 43 (UK 9).
COS

If you’re into the baggy, monochrome look, this is the shop for you. We love the minimalist styling and muted block colours at COS. Whilst it only stocks up to a size L (sizing on their site says this is equivalent to a UK 18), the cut of the clothing means that you’re not restricted by tight fitting styles. We do love the cut of COS dresses – they’re perfect for covering up the dreaded mum-tum and are often breastfeeding-friendly, with zips or buttons down the front.
WHERE TO BUY SHOES IN LARGE SIZES IN SINGAPORE
Boden

So often we find that retailers don’t cater to every woman’s desire to have fun and whimsical clothing. We love that Boden offers gorgeous, quirky clothing and shoes in larger sizes! Hurray for adorable polka dot pumps in a size 42! Boden’s range of shoes go up to a size EU 42 and some of its clothing ranges go up to size 22.
Badt & Co.

If you’re an espadrille lover, head to one of three boutiques in Singapore that stocks Badt and Co. shoes (including Badt and Co.’s very own boutique at Orchard!). Available up to a size 43, these are the comfortable way to look stylish!
Country Road

Aussie label Country Road stocks most of its shoes up to a size 42. Finally, you can enjoy wearing the same, fashionable shoes as your smaller-footed friends! We love its leather flats and comfy work shoes. Don’t forget to take a sneak peak at its beautiful clothes (many styles available up to XL) and the adorable kids stuff!
Birkenstock

An oldie, but a goodie, it’s hard to go past Birkenstock if you’re ‘well endowed’ in the foot department. Thankfully for larger footed ladies, Birkies has made a comeback and it’s totally on trend! Owing to the fact that it’s unisex, you can often find Birkenstocks in much larger sizes here, too. Phew!
