National Day menu and food delivery faves
Running just for the National Day weekend, Tablescape’s Sofa Menu is the perfect accompaniment to watching all the TV action! Each set (pictured above) is good for two, and features seven savouries and three sweets for $68. What to expect? How about a mini beef burger on a homemade bun, with fried quail egg, mushroom, bacon, cheese and truffle mayo? Or a mini baguette filled with salami, gorgonzola and sweet fig jam? We’ve got our eye on the chilli crab mousse, served with crisp rice crackers. So much yum.

Yàn’s National Day dining assortment is positively nom-worthy. Whether you choose to dine-in or opt for at-home eating, it all sounds delish. If you’re heading to the restaurant, don your stretchy pants so you can enjoy as much of the lunchtime dimsum National Day menu. (We’re making a beeline for the deep-fried sambal crayfish roll and the chilli crab meat bun.) Yes, it’s closed for the 8–9 August weekend due to restricted access to the National Gallery Singapore. But the good news is the menu is on all month, so you can still enjoy a pre- or post-National Day celebration. Staying in? The Taste of Home share pack ($55) is available for both self-collection and delivery, and offers five courses of goodness.

We love the family-friendly fare from Swensen’s, so it’s no surprise we checked out its National Day menu offerings. The nasi lemak pizza with boneless wings ($15.90) is sure to be a conversation starter, while the shrimp laksa pasta ($14.90) is a unique take on a local soul-food favourite. There’s also the beef rendang baked rice ($14.90), which is a celebratory take on the restaurant’s signature dish. Mmmm, cheese… Can’t decide? No problem! Summerlong gives a Mediterranean twist to the nation’s favourite dishes and we’re excited. Why? Because as well as loving their food (especially the National Day menu!), we also love this place for being so family-friendly. For brunch, start with the nasi lemak souvlaki ($18), filled with turmeric-fried fish, coconut milk pilaf, pickled cucumber, sambal sauce and peanuts. While the kids aren’t watching, wash it down with a cocktail. The Summer Sling is a nod to the iconic Singapore Sling, and is a refreshing blend of Aperol, pineapple, lime, Pimm’s, grenadine, Cointreau and soda. Come dinner time, there’s crispy soft shell crab with orzo pasta ($31) to dig into.

Blue Jasmine, Park Hotel Farrer Park
Enjoy National Day food at home with Blue Jasmine’s blend of local and Thai fare. Perennial fave nasi lemak gets a makeover in both a generously filled individual bento box ($12.80) or set that’s good for a family of four ($48). Expect lemak rice, Thai-style crisp chicken wings, Thai hor mok, condiments and tasty dessert, too. The restaurant is also dishing up its version of roast chicken rice – always a kid-pleaser! Not only that, but with every order of the set meals, Blue Jasmine is gifting a complimentary DIY Singapore Sling (they can also make it a mocktail if you’re off the booze right now). Winning!

One for the health fans… If you love a poke bowl as much as we do, you’ll be whooping with delight over Pink Fish’s National Day menu. In celebration of Singapore’s 55th National Day, tuck into a celebratory Singaporean salmon and chilli crab bowl, that uses fresh tomatoes as the base for the sauce. We’ve sampled it, and reckon there’s a perfect balance of sweet, tangy and hint of spice.
