The school has been recognised for its excellence in delivering the Reggio Emilia approach and International Baccalaureate curriculum, as well as supporting student wellbeing.
Congratulations to Australian International School (AIS) for another impressive year at Singapore Education Awards 2023! The school has won gold for Best Early Learning Programme (Reggio Emilia) and Student Wellbeing Award, as well as silver for The Curriculum Awards (International Baccalaureate).
The AIS Early Years programme gains recognition for the second time
AIS won gold for Best Early Learning Programme in the Singapore Education Awards 2021. The school’s Early Years programme best embodies a Reggio Emilia-inspired approach, treating children as curious individuals who have the potential to learn from their surroundings.
From providing young children with innovative learning spaces, to incorporating democracy in its educational philosophy – AIS has everything that children need to embark on a journey of self-discovery and idea connection. Students as young as four play active roles in the AIS’ Global Citizens Committee, where they have weekly meetings and do event planning. A group of them even proposed playground improvements to the Head of Early Years, complete with suggestions, blueprints, and questions.
Student wellbeing is prioritised at AIS
The educators at AIS strongly believe that academic achievement is inextricably linked to a student’s social, emotional, and psychological wellbeing. As such, the school strives to ensure all aspects of a student’s wellbeing are met, be it mentally or physically.
AIS is known for its unique Academic Wellbeing programme, which allows students to achieve both academic excellence and positive mental wellbeing. The school does this by creating an environment where students can feel happy, healthy, safe, and be their best. It has a dedicated Wellbeing Team that provides a multi-faceted system of guidance for students’ holistic development. STRIVE, the school’s pastoral programme, covers diverse topics and activities that enhance a student’s skills and knowledge relevant to their current and future experiences. It’s no wonder AIS has been voted by the judges to win gold for Student Wellbeing Award!
AIS students have consistently achieved outstanding academic results
The school has always been known for its strong focus on academic learning. Hence, it comes as no surprise that AIS is awarded silver for The Curriculum Awards (IB). AIS IB candidates have achieved amazing results over the years, some of them are even perfect scorers!
Students at AIS develop critical thinking, creativity, and a lifelong love for learning – all of which prepare them for an ever-evolving future. The school also instils values of ethical and moral reflection to nurture students into global citizens who are capable of making a positive impact. Through a holistic approach that emphasises an individual’s development in art, sports, and co-curricular activities, AIS provides a well-rounded education that goes beyond academics.
Why we love AIS
With so many great attributes, AIS’ wins are so well deserved! This multi-award winning school was also our Singapore International School of the Year 2022, securing the judges’ votes through its unwavering commitment to providing students with exceptional opportunities and a nurturing environment. As this year’s results show, the school continues this same mission – and we love it for that!
A hearty congratulations once again, AIS!
