This new kindergarten to Grade 1 pathway combines the best of many worlds: the acclaimed French national education curriculum, delivered in the effective inquiry-led approach, and fully in English.
Did you know that International French School (Singapore) welcomes non-French-speaking families? This international school is known for its plurilingual education system, which includes support in the form of intensive French lessons (FLSco) for students with no French language background. On top of that, IFS also has an impressive French-English bilingual programme as well as a Mandarin section at all school levels, from kindergarten through to high school.
But the school isn’t stopping at that. Come September 2026, IFS will be taking its multilingual offerings up a notch with the launch of its new English International Stream (EIS) in kindergarten and Grade 1, a fully English medium pathway with no French requirement. Read on for the full deets of this new early years programme.
The distinguished French curriculum, fully delivered in English.

The EIS is a unique pathway that combines inquiry-led learning with the French national curriculum, widely regarded as one of the best in the world. This allows families in Singapore to experience the advantage of the French curriculum, which is known for its balanced approach to education: strong focus on academics with room for creativity and inquiry.
What’s more, all schools that deliver the French curriculum are regulated and audited by the French Ministry of Education – so you can rest assured knowing your child’s learning journey at IFS is in good hands. On top of this, children in the EIS get to choose to pick up French or Mandarin as their second language.
Children don’t need prior French to enrol in EIS
If you have concerns about having to send your child to French classes, or worried about how they’ll fare with picking up a language that’s not native to your family, fret not. The EIS differs from the other pathways offered at IFS, as students in this English stream do not need to meet any French language requirements. Subjects and lessons will be taught in English by English-speaking and highly qualified teachers.
School days will be spent at the new villa-concept kindergarten campus

That’s right – IFS recently unveiled a new dedicated campus for its kindergarten students. The school recently won gold for Best New Campus in our 2025 Singapore Education Awards, impressing judges with the zero-energy campus that has an innovative villa design. Children get to learn and play in an eco-friendly environment, as well as collaborate with each other in the Agora, the campus’ shared space that connects to all classrooms.
The EIS is set to launch in September 2026
Registration for IFS’ inaugural EIS kindergarten cohort will open in mid-January 2026, with classes starting in the 2026/2027 academic year (typically around September). You can find out more about the EIS at the school’s upcoming open houses:
23 January 2026, 8,45am
7 February 2026, 9.30am
13 March 2026, 8.45am
IFS’ open houses are free to attend, but registration is required for your preferred date.
