With Singapore’s first zero-energy campus and a forward-thinking approach, it’s no surprise that International French School (Singapore) clinched two awards at the recent Singapore Education Awards. Read on to find out what made it shine.
Congratulations are in order, as International French School (Singapore) has bagged two wins at Singapore Education Awards 2025! The school clinched the Gold for Best New Campus and Editor’s Choice for International School with the Most Future-Ready Students.
The school wows with a gorgeous new compound
It’s easy to see why IFS came out tops for Best New Campus. It just unveiled a state-of-the-art kindergarten which, get this, is Singapore’s first zero-energy campus. It’s also the first to achieve the BCA Green Mark Platinum (Zero Energy) certification. So, what exactly does this mean? Every inch of the campus has been purposefully designed to have innovation, sustainability, and child-centred learning at its core. Amazingly, it produces just as much energy as it consumes!

No expense has been spared: the new kindergarten is part of IFS’ $80 million campus expansion. Fitted with solar panels, it empowers students to love and care for the environment through green practices woven into their daily routines. The spacious classrooms are flooded with natural light, and fitted with low-e double-glazed windows and ALC insulated walls that optimise light and sound insulation.
On especially hot and humid days, the campus offers some respite via smart cooling systems that adjust to occupancy and climate for maximum comfort. That’s not all: the campus collects all the rainwater from building surfaces, and recycles it for irrigation. How cool is that?
The school goes all out to future-proof its students

The world is changing faster than we realise, and it’s all about getting our children ready for the future. In line with its 2023-2028 Educational Project, IFS does this by placing emphasis on cultivating values such as empathy, innovation, problem-solving, and having a global perspective. The star of the show is its plurilingual education pathway, where students learn a trio of English, Mandarin, and French right from the get-go. Every individual learns at their own pace, aided by flexible language streams and tailored support programs.
Social sensitivity is at the forefront of the school’s approach, where it uses cooperative learning initiatives to champion diversity. This is a must at IFS, which welcomes students from over 70 nationalities! It also debuted a secondary counselling centre in 2023, and provides dedicated support for students with special educational needs via the GAIN inclusion unit.
To get its students even more future-ready, career guidance is incorporated into student life from Grade 6 onwards. They get exposed to personal coaching, internships, and more. They’re kept well up-to-date on current and emerging trends as well, such as artificial intelligence, which has taken our world by storm.
Well done, IFS!
A campus that puts the kids first and does so much good for the environment? Very well deserved, we say!
