You know what gives us a dopamine boost? Kids free to move and play, energy happily spent, and early bedtimes. Bonus! Here's our review of Dopamine Land.
Dopamine Land has finally made its way to Singapore! This is the multi-sensory experience’s Southeast Asia debut after touring cities like London, Madrid, Dubai, São Paulo, Washington DC, Brisbane and New Jersey. As its name suggests, this immersive experience is designed to get you moving, ignite creativity, and bring people together through play. In short, it gets your dopamine (that reward chemical in your brain) going. For parents, the dopamine rush may come in another form: early bedtime for kids!
Plus, all those cute insta-worthy pictures on our camera roll make it worth a visit. We might be calling it a cool multi-sensory indoor playground for kids but we, the adults, had our own share of fun too (here’s proof on our Instagram). So, parents, before you go get your dose of dopamine, we share everything you need to know in our guide to Dopamine Land Singapore.

What is Dopamine Land?

Dopamine Land is an immersive space with nine rooms where colour, sound, texture, and movement take centre stage. Think of it as a walk-though indoor playground with each room offering a different experience and play. Dopamine Land might not have been designed specifically as an indoor playground but it’s a space that encourages free exploration and movement, while igniting curiosity and imagination. With all the vibrant neon lights and tactile elements, it’s also a insta-worthy, perfect for snapping up memorable moments. Just that, your kids may be too immersed in the play to pose.
The nine rooms of Dopamine Land

It’s going to be a very sensory-rich experience. Think neon lights, some flashing lights, loud music, scents and tactile elements. Give them a heads up and make sure to keep a lookout for any unusual movements after you enter or leave a room. For us, the corridor lit up in a bright neon pink as we stepped out of a room, that caught us off guard and threw us off balance for a second.
If there’s sensory overload, head to calmer rooms like Euphoria Grove or Scribblescape to reset. There’s no time limit so explore the rooms in ways that best suit you.
Colourtopia
Colourtopia is the very first room you’ll enter and you have to walk through this to get to the other rooms. It’s a neon-soaked space bursting with bright colours and lights, with a cubic rainbow right in the centre. With its ribbon-like design, you can walk through the cubic rainbow. Although it doesn’t cover a big area, you’ll still want to hold the hands of he little ones so they won’t lose their way!
Note: Bright neon lights
Scribblescape

This is one of our favourite rooms, because nowhere else will allow, let alone encourage you to “vandalise” the walls! Grab a marker and express yourself freely on the walls, on the chairs, on the tables, anywhere you can reach. If you’ve got a wall artist at home, you know where to bring them to.
Neon Nebula

In this room, there’s a tornado of swirling balloons. They seem to glow in the dark or are just brightly- coloured balloons. For those with latex allergies, please skip this room. While it’s really fun and surreal to stand amidst the swirling balloons, we have a fear of stepping on them. They’ll pop! But beautiful photo spot, though.
Note: Bright neon lights
Cave of Tactility

It’s a neon pink cave with lots of tactile elements and by that, we mean pool noodles! We felt like a car at the car wash, some of us were just slapping the noodles around. Walk all the way in and there’s a foam pit waiting for you. It’s not a huge area but good enough to pose for photos.
Note: Bright neon lights, Socks required, remove shoes for foam pit
Chromodance

We thought this was going to be a “the floor with lave” but with music, turns out it’s more of dancing lights. Play a song from the jukebox and watch the floor light up in sync with the music. There are disco balls to complete the vibes!
Note: Flashing lights, loud music
Sunset Lagoon

This is another of our favourite room, because ball pit — an indoor playground must-have! Unlike most others, this has a backdrop of the sunset. And with the flamingo inflatable, it’s giving tropical sunset. It’s not too deep, kids can play with ease and us, with a peace of mind. Great photo spot too!
Note: Socks required, remove shoes for ball pit
Cushion Clash

If you’ve ever wanted to get on a bouncy castle with your kid, this is the where to go. They’ve inflated a bouncy battlefield, safe and fun enough for pillow fights to take place. Pick up the pillows, start the buzzer, and fight it out! Really fun but tiring!
Note: Socks required, remove shoes for pillow fight
Euphoria Grove

Euphoria Grove is a serene place that’s made to feel like a forest in the night, scent included. Kick back on the cushions and immerse in the gentle light changes that mimics the change of seasons. Might be a good photo spot too!
Note: Socks required, remove shoes for pillow fight
Cosmic Oasis

With the string of lights, this will be a familiar room to many as it’s reminiscent of the one at Future World, ArtScience Museum. The difference is that there is more space to walk around and kids might even fit in between the strings, making for a dazzling photo backdrop.
Note: Strobing lights
Things to do at Dopamine Land
Photo spots

You can start capturing Instagrammable moments once you step in. There’s a bath tub filled with balls and rubber duckies and a pink swing, which we wished could swing.
VR Ride

VIP tickets come with a three-minute VR ride. There are a couple of adventures to choose from – we did a roller coaster one! It was a fun ride but we felt that hygiene of the VR headsets could be better managed, for example by offering an eye mask or by sanitising it after every ride.
