Even more reason to head to Singapore Botanic Gardens with the family, COMO Adventure Grove is the latest addition to the playground scene!
It’s not just the fabulous new playground addition at East Coast Park to enjoy with the fam. Nope, those in the West are well catered for, too, with the new playground at Singapore Botanic Gardens in the form of the COMO Adventure Grove. Based in the recently opened Gallop Extension, this snazzy new playground is inspired by the trees found in and around the park, and we think it looks amazing! Here’s what’s waiting for you…
What is COMO Adventure Grove?
It’s a pretty spectacular playground in Singapore Botanic Gardens, that’s what it is! Not only does it have a whole host of amazing play features, but it also looks super-pretty to boot. Here’s what to look out for on your visit…
1. Climb up the weeping fig play structure
First up, the kids can check out the play structure inspired by the aerial roots of the weeping fig. There’s plenty of places to swing and climb, and did we mention the slides? The enclosed tunnel slides are sure to be top of the list for the kiddos to tackle. There are two options at an impressive 4m and 2.1m in length… That’s a long way down!
2. Take on the giant jackfruit
Search for the giant jackfruit! You can’t really miss it, it takes centre stage in the garden and is perfect for a scramble for the older kids.
3. Hop around the pods and seeds of the Saga tree
We reckon the littlies will love this part of COMO Adventure Grove. The giant saga seeds are too irresistible not to explore, being bright red and making the perfect springy seat (just watch their balance!). There’s also a fun obstacle course to take on here too!
4. Stroll the Mingxin Foundation Rambler’s Ridge
Once the kids have had their play fix, seek some shade (that’s the only downside of the playground, no shade!) and get back to nature on the Mingxin Foundation Rambler’s Ridge, a barrier-free path lined with beautiful and rare trees. If you want to take on more of a challenge, you can descend rocky steps to return to the path (note, this option isn’t for prams!).

What else is on offer for the kids at the Gallop Extension?
As well as COMO Adventure Grove (which is worth coming for alone), Gallop Extension also offers the Forest Discovery Centre @ OCBC Arboretum. Situated in a lovely black and white bungalow (and actually the oldest surviving one in Singapore!), the centre shines a spotlight on the amazing biodiversity that this area has in abundance. There are interactive displays giving visitors the chance to see a bird’s eye view of Singapore’s forests, as well as find out more about Singapore Botanic Garden’s role in preserving them.
Close by, you’ll also find the Botanical Art Gallery, which offers great respite from the heat, plus amazing art showcasing all things botanical. There’s also an activity room where you can put your artistic skills to the test!
How do I get to COMO Adventure Grove?
NParks has made this fab video to help you find your way to this new playground because it can be a little tricky. The playground is a 25-minute walk from Botanic Gardens MRT or 20 mins from the bus stop on Napier/Holland Road. Alternatively, opt for the bus stop along Holland Road (after the Ministry of Foreign Affairs), a 10-minute walk away. If you’re travelling by car, there is a small car park in the Gallop Extension.
Are there any facilities near COMO Adventure Grove?
That all-important question if you’re planning a day out anywhere with kids! Luckily the Gallop Extension has us looked after. There are toilets (via the steps behind the playground), and our favourite Bee’s Knees cafe, which is also situated at The Garage, has set up a small outlet here called Bee’s Knees Petite. You can also check out this guide for more options in the Bukit Timah area.
See you at COMO Adventure Grove playground soon, folks!
