The seriously awesome school summer 2018 camp list is extensive for sure, but did you know there’s a heap of things for kids to do over the summer at your local community club?  We’re all about keeping things affordable when it comes to entertaining the kiddos busy during the school break, and when you have a rabble of kids to budget for, keeping things wallet-friendly is key. We’ve come to the school holiday rescue with some great activity workshops, classes and programmes that are low in cost but big on fun…

PEOPLE’S ASSOCIATION COMMUNITY CLUBS
Affordable and exciting is the name of the game when it comes to the School Holiday Series happening at Community Clubs (CC) all over Singapore. Fun-filled workshops, sporting activities and parent-child programmes are available for kiddos age three and up, and we’ve rounded up just a small selection of the awesome activities on offer.

DIY Kawaii Travel Shadowbox (Parent-Child)
How about making some memories (literally!) with your child using a shadowbox? This is the perfect opp to hang out with your kids and create something really rather special.
When: 4 and 10 June 2018

Young Inventor- Toy making with Strawbees
What exactly can you build using just straws? Find out at this fun workshop for kids seven to 12 year olds. A car, spaceship and even a helicopter – the possibilities are endless!

Build Your Secret Garden (Parent-Child)
We love getting our city kids into urban gardening as much as possible, so we’re loving the look of this workshop aimed at wannabe botanists. Green fingered fun includes designing and building your very own container garden and then the chance to grow a garden of succulents to bring home.

Lovely Sand Art Air Plant (Parent-Child)
Create a work of art with your little one and learn how to grow a plant – without soil! This fuss-free Sand Art Air Plant will definitely look brilliant on the shelf.

ACTIVESG
Reading like an A-Z of Olympic sports, ActiveSG provides a plethora of affordable programmes for kiddos age three years and up. If you’re an ActiveSG member, you can offset 30% of the fees with your (free!) $100 ActiveSG credits. There are over 40 activities to choose from, but do note that these are only available to Singapore citizens and PR children. We especially love the look of:

Aqua Fun
Make a splash during the school hols by bringing your six to 12 year olds to an Aqua Fun session where they’ll develop water confidence and new aquatic skills while meeting new friends and having a whole lotta fun. And the best news of all? It’s free!

Dance Fitness for Kids
Small groovers age five to 12 years will love shaking their thang at dance workouts over two or three consecutive days. KpopX, Zumba, Masala Bhangra and Bokwa are what’s on the mini-movers’ menu.

Flippa Ball Introductory Programme
Confidence, team-building and the chance to try a fun new sport are what it’s all about at the Flippa Ball Introduction Programme. Kids age seven to 12 years will love this game that is actually a modified version of water polo.

Scuba Diving – Fun Scuba Intro
With Singapore being the gateway to so many stunning vacay spots around Asia, it’s never too early to get your kids interested in scuba diving. This awesome workshop introduces diving gear and basic breathing and diving skills to kids age six to 14 years old and up in a safe, structured swimming pool setting.

Kids Baking Workshops
Want to know what the kids are capable of whipping up in the kitchen? This June Holiday look forward to what they think Daddy’s Car looks like when made from Cranberry Cheese Bread! Or how about a Dinosaur Pizza? Our tummies are growling already!

Kidz Science!
Little scientists aged five to 12 years can discover cool experiments using mini-rockets, magnets and strange and mysterious fluids. There’s volcanos and dry ice too, but don’t worry, they’ll get to see live demonstrations for those rather than risking limbs themselves.

Junior Badminton
Keen to pick up one of Singapore’s more popular sports? Singapore is REALLY good at badders! Kids aged six to 16 years will be coached by former national players and learn all the tricks in the game.

Zoom Camp
