Whether you need a ready-to-go picnic hamper, or fancy packing a picnic of your own, we’ve got perfect picnic picks for a fun outdoor feast...

What’s not to love about getting into the great outdoors with the kids, the family dog and a perfectly packed picnic basket? We’ve already let you in on the best picnic spots in Singapore, but now we’re talking picnic-friendly food, beautiful baskets and handy hampers. Before you head out to every supermarket on the Little Red Dot to track down olives, manchego cheese and colourful melamine cups and plates, we’ve come to your al fresco dining rescue with everything you need for a fun family picnic…

Dean & DeLuca
If it’s a gourmet picnic feast you are after, rather than a cheese sandwich and a bag of chips, then head to one of the Dean & DeLuca cafes to pick up culinary delights such as Migos Pajaerero Figs ($9), Betsey’s Cheddar Cheese Straws ($6), pork pistachio pate ($12.75), or maybe some Dean & Deluca caramel and chipotle popcorn ($2.75). Short of time? Don’t worry about wasting hours browsing: pick up a ready-to-go hamper filled with top-notch goodies! We love the American Picnic hamper which comes filled to the brim with sweet and savoury treats for $128.
Dean & DeLuca, 4 Hillview Rise,  #01-01 667979, Singapore 669554, Orchard Central, 181 Orchard Road, #01-09/10, Singapore 238896 and 47 Pekin Street, #01-01, 048733; www.deandeluca.com/singapore

This picnic at the beach organised by Picneeds ticks all the boxes for luxe al fresco dining

Picneeds
Whether you live in a HDB, a landed house or a condo (or something else entirely!), chances are that storage space is limited at home, and not many of us have room for keeping picnic hampers and the paraphernalia that goes with them. Which is why we did a little jig when we found out about Picneeds! These guys will rock up to your picnic destination with a hamper packed exactly to your requirements and set the whole thing up for you. No theme or idea is too big: you want McDonalds delivered on posh plates? Done! Picneeds is way more than just a picnic packer. We are talking your very own personal food shopper AND events planner all rolled into one! The deal sealer? They take it all away again after you’ve finished!

A standard set will include two pizzas (six inches each), six chicken nuggets, a box of fruit, two bottles of water, two cans of soft drink, floor sheet, utensils and of course the basket!

Picnics made pretty with the gorgeous Rice melamine goodies at Children’s Showcase

Children’s Showcase
First things first: you need some fun picnic ware! And whilst paper plates always seem like a good, easy idea, in reality they usually turn into a soggy mess, plastic cups and cutlery are wasteful and totes against our goal to be as environmentally friendly as possible! We say invest in some perennially pretty plates that you can use for picnics and BBQs forevermore. Enter Children’s Showcase: think rainbow coloured plates and cups made in durable melamine by Rice, whimsical storage pots and flasks by Sass & Belle, and gorgeous themed party accessories by Tabletalk. Picnic settings just got perfect.
