Does your kid love to sing? If they're keen to get some vocal training, we've found some fun classes around Singapore to get them into pop, classical, musical theatre, choir singing or rock!
There’s no business like show business, and if you have a wannabe singing star on your hands then you may want to think about vocal training in Singapore to help your little one achieve their dreams! We know where to send the kids for dancing lessons, and we’ve got drama workshops and courses covered too, but what about lessons to help turn those constant renditions of Let it Go into a Disney-worthy performance? Read on for the studios and singing lessons for kids that could turn your mini-crooner into a future Adele or John Legend.
Centre Stage School of the Arts
If you have an aspiring pop star on your hands, then your little songsters age five to 10 years will love the high-energy Popstars course over at Centre Stage School of the Arts (pictured top)! The sessions are designed to help kiddos learn contemporary pop and musical numbers, with a large dose of dancing and choreography thrown in too. The class is not one that involves technical training, and the main aim is to encourage a love for singing and dancing for fun. Kids age eight and up can take their singing a bit more seriously with one of Centre Stage’s group and individual singing lesson sessions. These lessons will have a technical focus in order to develop safe singing practises, and versatility in your child’s vocal performances.

Thunder Rock School
Thunder Rock School holds the belief that anyone can sing, and these guys will teach your kids to hold a tune and move and dance at the same time! Essential vocal techniques will be taught, and each child is encouraged to not just imitate Justin, Miley or Adele, but to find their own singing voice and style. Whether your child fancies becoming a bona fide rock star, the next pop prince or princess, or simply wants to sing into a hairbrush at home, Thunder Rock will really get kiddos into the melody through improvisation, voice training and chord progression.

The Singing Loft
Here at The Singing Loft’s Kids Sing course, little ones will develop not just an ear for music, but enjoy a boost to their brain power too: science proves that exposing small ears to music at a young age positively affects their cognitive development. The course is also about helping students reach their creative potential, and recognises that because each voice is unique, there really is no such thing as a ‘one size fits all’ training method!

Mini-crooners from age six (under 10s will need to be accompanied by a grown-up) are welcome to this boutique studio where voice technician, coach, researcher and healer, Grace Ng Ee Wern, personally teaches all of her classes. Whether your little one is just learning voice control, or is already heading towards becoming a professional singer, there is a class style for all. Students can pick from pop music, musical theatre and classical singing choices.

Aureus Academy of Music
Kids get to sing their little hearts during their vocal lessons at Aureus Academy: here, teachers work with little ones age five and up to help find your child’s own style of singing voice. Whether kiddos want to belt out a Disney song, a rock tune, a broadway show-stopper or a classical number, lessons will be tailored to their vocal range. Lessons run on a one-to-one basis from 30 minutes per class, and kids can work towards the UK’s Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music (ABRSM) grades 1-8 too.

The Vocal Studio
If you are looking for a centrally located studio for kids aged seven and up, then Vocal Studio Singapore ticks plenty of boxes. It caters to all contemporary vocal styles (do note that classical and opera are not covered here), and is suitable for absolute beginners, through to professional singers who might need some help with technique. The studio is the creation of Lauren Dogan, a professional singer, vocal coach and international singing teacher who has been creating melodies with students for more than 10 years.
