From riverside splashes to city playgrounds, here are the best places to celebrate Songkran with kids in Bangkok
The biggest celebration in Thailand is Songkran, taking place from 13–15 April. It’s that one time of year when splashing water on strangers is part of the fun and not a crime. If you’ve ever wondered why, we’ve also put together a quick guide to what the festival is all about.

You can head to IconSiam and Asiatique The Riverfront for breezy riverside splash zones or to One Bangkok and Siam Square for city-centre water play packed with action. For a more laid-back soak, Outdoor School Bangkok and Bambini Villa cater to the younger crowd with simple fun.
