This riverside complex brings together Thai heritage, high-end shopping and play zones for a full family day out.
Another trip to a mall in Bangkok might not sound all that exciting but this riverside complex proves it can be.
Set along the banks of the Chao Phraya River, Iconsiam blends luxury retail with Thai culture. Its striking architecture takes inspiration from the river’s natural curves and the elegance of traditional Thai silk. Inside, you’ll find everything from global designer brands to cultural zones that showcase Thailand’s craftsmanship, flavours and traditions.
From interactive attractions to diverse dining options and spacious areas to explore, it turns a simple mall visit into a full family outing.
What is IconSiam?

This family-friendly destination in Bangkok serves as both a cultural hub and a luxury shopping landmark. Opened in 2018, it has over 7,000 shops and around 100 restaurants.
Instead of feeling like one typical mall, it’s split into different zones. On the ground floor, SookSiam is usually the busiest spot, set up like an indoor market with Thai street food, snacks, and local products from different regions.
The floors above are more straightforward, with a mix of international brands, local designers and everyday shops, along with cafes and casual dining options in between.
As you go higher, the space opens up into more restaurants and lifestyle areas, including spots with river views and places where events or pop-ups are often held.
It also hosts events throughout the year, including festivals, exhibitions and cultural performances and is especially known for its New Year’s Eve countdown by the Chao Phraya River, where crowds gather for the spectacular fireworks.
Located by the river, you can take a public boat and pass many attractions along the way before arriving. It’s also directly connected to BTS Charoen Nakhon, so it’s easy to get here from the city centre.
Inside the experience: what families can expect

The Riverfront & nightly shows
River Park is a wide-open space right on the water that hosts different festivals and events all year round. The highlight is the Iconic Multimedia Water Feature, a 400-meter-long fountain that shoots water 35 meters into the air. The nightly light and sound shows are totally free and always a hit with little ones.
Iconluxe & retail zones
This is the mall’s dedicated luxury wing, featuring massive flagship boutiques from brands such as Louis Vuitton and Hermes, all designed with beautiful glass walls facing the river.
SookSiam

On the ground floor, this zone is designed like an indoor floating market. It brings together Thai street food, snacks and local products in a fully air-conditioned space.
Dining spots
There’s a wide range of food options across the mall. On the 6th floor, Alangkarn is a dining zone with a large indoor waterfall and Thai-inspired design, with restaurants such as Thipsamai Pad Thai and LukKaiThong. For river views, you can head to Tasana Nakorn Terrace, where you can dine at places like HOBS or Fallabella in a breezy, semi-outdoor setting.
Play zones for kids

Up on the 6th floor, Mega HarborLand is a large indoor playground with Thai-themed elements, featuring slides, climbing areas and soft play zones for different age groups. Right next door, Kids Cinema is not your typical movie theatre, with ball pits and colourful seating that let kids move around and play while a movie is on.
Riverside views & open terraces
The Apple Store terrace and Napalai Terrace offer panoramic views of the river, where you can enjoy the sunset while watching the bustling boat traffic below.
