Have a kid going to primary school next year? Make sure you have these Primary 1 registration key dates on hand, and check which phase applies to you!
Parents of Singaporean and PR six-year-olds in Singapore: the time has come! Our preschoolers are going to primary school! Which primary school can you enrol them to? Which P1 Registration phase should you apply for? Can you register if your child is a foreigner? We explain all the different P1 Registration phases below.
If your child is born between 2 January 2019 and 1 January 2020 (both dates inclusive), you can register your child in the 2025 P1 Registration Exercise (for the 2026 intake). As always, the registration process is conducted entirely online, and you can check ahead of time which phase your child is eligible for here.
Before you register
Make sure you have a valid Singpass with 2-factor authentication, which is required when you log in to the portal. Only one parent is required to perform the registration. If you encounter issues during the registration process, you can contact the school of your choice through e-mail or telephone on the respective registration days between 9am to 4.30pm.
Information on the number of vacancies for each school in this year’s exercise will be updated during each phase. Take note that numbers may change as withdrawals and changes can be made throughout the registration period. International students must register through a 2-step process prior to registration in Phase 3 – scroll till the end for all the info.
As written on the MOE website, details of the 2025 P1 Registration Exercise will be updated by May 2025. Join MOE’s mailing list to receive an email alert when registration information is available.

MOE will reserve 20 places in each primary school for Phase 2B to ensure continued access to all primary schools. Endorsed active community leaders are eligible to register their child only for schools within 2km of their residential address in Phase 2B. For a child who gains admission under the “parent is an endorsed active community leader” eligibility to a school within 2km of the address used for registration, they must reside at that address (which shall continue to be your NRIC address) for at least 30 months from the start of the P1 Registration Exercise, which is 2 July 2024 for the 2024 P1 Registration Exercise.
If the 30-month stay requirement is not met, MOE has and will transfer the child to another school with vacancies, as the priority admission to the first school was based on the declared address used for registration.
