Looking for kids’ theatre shows in Singapore? Here at HoneyKids HQ, we’re crazy about musicals, plays, and performances for the whole family to enjoy. Not only do big productions, gorgeous costumes, and lively tunes enthral the kids (and offer up insta-worthy pics of the day out!), theatre experiences create everlasting memories for the whole fam. They’re also an excellent opportunity to inspire your little aspiring thespian to get into the performing arts. Plus, it’s perfect when the weather’s bogging you down. 1. Date Night: Catch the opening weekend of Tartuffe: The Imposter [R18]
True to its mission of reimagining the world’s classics for today’s Singapore, Wild Rice Theatre is now taking on French playwright Molière’s satirical masterpiece, Tartuffe: The Imposter. This is set to be ‘a startlingly modern, darkly comic adaptation’, and we can’t wait to see it! This is the story of a wealthy family that starts to unravel when the head of the household, Orgon, befriends Tartuffe. This charming, seductive con artist masquerades as a man of faith. Everyone else smells a rat, even as Tartuffe works his way into Orgon’s home, heart and bank account! What will it take for Orgon to finally see the light?

2. Little Shop of Horrors [MATURE ADVISORY]
Get set for a wild ride with Little Shop of Horrors, a rock musical sensation that has been thrilling audiences for over 30 years! Business at Mushnik’s Florist is terrible until Seymour displays Audrey II (named after his crush and co-worker Audrey), creating much hubbub and a rise in customers. Seymour is an overnight sensation, but Audrey II’s carnivorous appetite soon creates chaos. Directed by TJ Taylor and featuring an all-star cast, including Andrew Marko (of Sherlock Sam fame) and Vanessa Kee, it’s on until 28 April at the SOTA Drama Theatre.
Content warning: The portrayal of domestic violence and sexism in this production may be upsetting, and the humour could cause offence to some viewers. Viewer discretion is advised.

3. Date Night: HAMILTON [Advisory 16]
The Revolution is coming to Singapore! The Tony, Grammy, Olivier, and Pulitzer Prize-winning musical is coming to Singapore! HAMILTON first premiered on Broadway in August 2015 to wide critical and audience acclaim and has gone on to play seasons in London’s West End, Australia, Germany, Canada and New Zealand.
Look forward to an incredible score that blends hip-hop, jazz, R&B and Broadway. The show takes the story of American founding father Alexander Hamilton and turns it into a revolutionary moment in theatre. This is a musical that has had a profound impact on culture, politics and education. The book, music and lyrics are by Lin-Manuel Miranda, direction by Thomas Kail, choreography by Andy Blankenbuehler and musical supervision and orchestrations by Alex Lacamoire.

4. Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince in Concert [PG13]
Experience the sixth part of the Harry Potter film series with Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince in Concert! The Metropolitan Festival Orchestra will perform Nicholas Hooper’s incredible score live while the entire film plays in high-definition on a 40-foot screen. As a recap for those who don’t remember, in this episode, Lord Voldemort tightens his grip on both the Muggle and Wizarding Worlds. While Dumbledore and Harry prepare for battle, romance blossoms for Ron and Hermione. Love is in the air, but danger lies ahead and Hogwarts may never be the same again. 5. Young Children’s Concert: Karung Guni Boy, by the Singapore Chinese Orchestra
Join Guest Conductor Lien Boon Hua on a meaningful journey to uncover stories about the “Karung Guni Boy”, written by Lorraine Tan and illustrated by Eric Wong. What’s that loud horn coming from downstairs? Oh, it’s the Karang Guni (rag and bone) man who collects old items and recyclables! I wonder what story does he have? Fuelled by his inventive spirit, watch as Ming collects materials from his neighbours to build a remarkable machine! Join in on this fun-filled musical adventure and teach the kids about sustainability.

6. Peter & Blue’s Treasure Hunt 2024 Presented by Singapore Ballet [G]
We can’t wait for our little twinkle toed ballerinas to see this brand new ballet! This new production and story was created by Singapore Ballet’s very own Janek Schergen, specially for the young ones to enjoy ballet in the theatre. Join Peter, his dog Blue and his cat Calico as they embark on a quest to discover hidden treasures in Singapore’s iconic landmarks.

7. Flipside 2024: Circus, Comedy, Theatre and Puppetry performances
The Flipside festival celebrates playfulness and creativity through circus, puppetry, physical theatre, visual theatre and comedy performances, accessible to all. The goal of each curated experience is to surprise and delight in unexpected ways! Taking place over 10 days and coinciding with the school holidays, the festival offers an exciting range of both free and ticketed programmes for families, featuring a mix of Singaporean, regional and international artists.

8. Bluey’s Big Play: The Stage Show
It’s just been announced that Bluey, Bingo, Bandit and Chilli are coming to Singapore this June school holidays! Bluey’s Big Play is a spectacular theatrical adaptation of the Emmy award-winning children’s television series featuring the loveable dog family created by Joe Brumm. Expect new music by Bluey composer, Joff Bush (boy are we obsessed with all those lovely tunes from the TV show!) and brilliantly created puppets bringing the Heeler family to life – for real life! Tickets on sale now at Marina Bay Sands and SISTIC.

9. The Gruffalo
‘There’s no such thing as a Gruffalo!’ Os is there? Join Mouse on a daring adventure through the deep, dark wood in this magical, musical adaptation of the beloved picture book by Julia Donaldson and Axel Scheffler. Searching for hazelnuts, Mouse meets the cunning Fox, the eccentric old Owl and a sly Snake. Will the story of the terrifying Gruffalo save Mouse from ending up as dinner for these hungry woodland creatures? This super fun show is great for kiddos of all ages, but note that everyone needs a ticket for entry (even infants in arms).

10. Peppa Pig’s Adventure
Our little piggies are so excited for this one! Peppa Pig’s Adventure is heading to Singapore for the first time this June. See Peppa, George, and pals in a theatrical extravaganza featuring larger-than-life puppets, catchy tunes, and tons of laughter. Don’t miss Peppa’s thrilling camping escapade with George, Pedro Pony, Suzy Sheep, and Gerald Giraffe. The whole fam are in for an oink-tastic time at this fun live musical that will leave your little ones squealing with laughter. Tickets are on sale here from 22 March onwards.

11. The Three Little Pigs
This adorable show is back again! After sold out productions in both English and Mandarin, STC’s The Little Company is bringing back our favourite fairy tale – The Three Little Pigs. Embark on an adventure with the three little pigs as they cleverly outwit the Big Bad Wolf, but this isn’t the fairytale exactly as you remember it. With three superstar piglets, a devoted single mum, and a misunderstood ‘Big Bad’ Wolf, this show teaches kiddos about how success can be achieved through hard work and perseverance. Perfect for kids aged 3 and above, this ‘very curly musical tail’ is packed with humour and is sure to have the whole fam howling with laughter.

12. DATE NIGHT: Miss Saigon (NC16+)
Miss Saigon, the beloved global smash-hit musical, is returning to Singapore after 23 years! We can’t wait to see Cameron Mackintosh’s acclaimed new production of Boublil and Schönberg’s award-winning musical. This production is more thrilling than ever, being enjoyed by more than 38 million people worldwide. From the creators of Les Misérables, the powerful musical score features hits including “The Heat is On in Saigon”, “The Movie in My Mind”, “Last Night of the World” and “The American Dream”. 13. Kids aged eight and over: Candlelight Concert Series
Enjoy the various songs that you know from the movies being performed live at this concert! Imagine: candlelights all over the venue, a solo pianist, and you humming along to the tunes featured in classics such as Aladdin, Frozen, Harry Potter, and many more. You’ll feel like you’ve been transported to a whole new world by the end of this show.

14. FREE: Gateway Arts Theatre Kids Storytelling Sessions every Saturday!
Gateway Kids Club is a free programme held at Gateway Theatre every Saturday. You can also join the Arts and Crafts session or Free Play activities after the storytelling session! Each month features a different theme around which activities are focused. Book your tickets via Sistic before you go. This month, the stories are all themed ‘Under the Sea!’
Psst… English Storytelling will begin at 10am, and Chinese Storytelling will be held on the first Saturday of each month at 11am. Tickets can be booked at no cost and admit one person per ticket.
