Who do mumpreneurs look up to? Unsurprisingly, other mumpreneurs! We ask mum entrepreneurs who they look up to for all things business and work-life balance.
We may have celebrated International Women’s Day earlier this month, but we’re continuing the Women’s History Month celebrations throughout March! Women should be celebrated everyday, and we’re shining a spotlight on the kickass mum entrepreneurs in our midst – here, six small business owners (some are Launchpad members!) share the mumpreneurs they look up to.

“Nina Mucalov is an exceptional photographer, but her impact goes far beyond her craft. Her kindness, positivity, and thoughtful approach leave a lasting impression on everyone she works with, and she’s her clients’ biggest cheerleader. As a business role model, Nina’s work-life discipline and belief in her worth stand out. She works toward her personal vision of success without ever compromising her dedication to her beautiful family. Nina is a shining example of thriving in both business and life with grace and authenticity.”
– Helena Gilmour, Founder of The Place

“You know, Andrea Liu, the brains behind Frolic for Life, she’s my go-to inspiration. Smart, caring, and all heart in her business dealings. What I love most is her knack for balancing everything with a smile. She’s there for her team, steering the ship, and her energy? It’s contagious! Witnessing her juggle various responsibilities while maintaining resilience in the face of challenges is inspiring. Her passion for kids’ coaching is remarkable, making a significant impact on many children in Singapore. She’s a constant reminder that challenges don’t dim her spirit. Learning from her, I’ve picked up on the importance of resilience, empathy, and maintaining positivity in navigating both business and personal challenges.”
– Selina Wirz, Health & Wellness Coach at Frolic For Life

“It may sound cliché, but when I think of a mum entrepreneur that inspires me, I think of my own mum. Sewing had been her hobby a long time, but when we moved countries and she started her new life as a single mum (after being a housewife for 10 years), she turned to her hobby to earn a living. She started by selling things she’d made at a weekend market, and eventually owned her own fabric store and became a successful dressmaker in our town. Her determination and perseverance when starting from zero will always be an inspiration to me!”
– Rebecca Berger, Photographer and Owner of Rebecca Berger Photography

“I hate the word ‘mumpreneur’ and I know the person I am going to talk about would hate it too – Anna Norriss, is the founder of Yellow Dot Marketing and she’s killing it! She’s got two crazy energetic boys and a messy life like the rest of us, but her ability to have laser focus, and just get it done, is like none other. She has so much impact when she is working with a client (and I know because I started out as one), because she doesn’t waste time, literally not a second of it, because she can’t afford to. She’s a true inspiration, my business bestie, my email marketing guru and insanely talented at what she does.”
– Kathy Rougier, Founder and Curator of Empowa and Pregnant and Popped

“Robyn Liang is my ultimate muse in the realm of mumpreneurs, especially as I navigate the vibrant yet challenging world of sustainable kids’ fashion with my startup, Nimbu. Her daring leap from finance to children’s apparel, despite lacking expertise, echoes my own journey. Robyn’s tenacity and commitment to quality at Le Petit Society resonate deeply with my ethos at Nimbu. Moreover, her ability to carve out dedicated family time amidst a bustling entrepreneurial life inspires me to strike that balance. Robyn Liang isn’t just a business icon; she’s a beacon guiding my path, showcasing that passion and resilience can redefine success in the kidswear industry.”
– Kriti Gupta, Founder & CEO of Nimbu

“I really look up to Tjin Lee. She is a super mom and entrepreneur who has nailed the work-family balance. She runs her own businesses including Mercury Social, and spearheads big deals like Singapore Fashion Week. Plus, she is part of the team behind Trehaus Cowork, a cool coworking space that’s great for parents. What strikes me most is how she always manages to look fabulous, no matter how busy she gets. From her, I have learned that juggling a successful career and family life is totally doable. She is living proof that you can have it all and look great doing it!”
– Bel Hwang, Founder of IB Super Education Centre
