4. Eighteen Chefs (Halal)

Eighteen Chefs has an extensive menu that ranges from steak to fried rice. But personally, the reason that made me keep coming back was definitely their student meal deal. You have the option to mix and match your spaghetti, cheese-baked rice, or cheese-baked spaghetti – choose from six sauces and one free protein like chicken sausage and scrambled eggs. This hearty main is accompanied by an Ice Lemon Tea, a soup, and even a scoop of ice cream for dessert to complete the meal. This deal isn’t just for the kiddos – NSFs serving our nation can also enjoy it! I definitely recommend coming here as the meal is filling and gives you the option to customise it to suit your taste, and is very affordable.
Where: Eighteen Chefs, multiple locations including The Star Vista, Clementi Mall, Bugis Junction, and Downtown East
When: All day, everyday.

5. Pastamania (Halal)

Pastamania is another good choice for some good ol’ Western favourites like pasta and pizza. This was another favourite of mine when I wanted something even more affordable and offered more flexibility, since you could choose to complete the meal or just have your food à la carte. They have main options such as Cheesy Crumble Chicken Ham, Mac & Cheese with Chicken Bacon, Chicken Ham & Mushroom Pizza (7”), and more – or you could choose to build your own pasta! You can also complete the meal with a drink and a choice of soup of the day, Waffle Potatoes, Cheesy Garlic Bread (2pcs), or Cheese Sticks (3pcs).
Where: Pastamania, multiple locations across the island.
When: Mon – Fri, opening time to 6pm

6. Yoshinoya (Halal)

Good Japanese food doesn’t have to cost a ton, especially if you’re a student! Yoshinoya is known for their gyudon, or beef rice bowls, but their ramen and curry rice is equally as delicious. They’ve got eight options for their student meal deal – one gyudon set, four ramen sets, and three curry rice sets. Each set comes with a drink and the option to add a dessert for an additional $3. Their portions are great and filling for the growing little ones – a great option if they love Japanese food!

7. Pizza Hut (Halal)
Is the kiddo in the mood for some pizza? Pizza Hut is the household name when it comes to pizza, and a favorite amongst the kids. They’ve got a great option for the little ones too, with their personal pan pizzas – just the right size! This student meal deal is extra affordable as well, cheaper than some school canteen options. The only downside is that it doesn’t come with a drink or side, but if they’ve got their water bottles with them then no worries!
Where: Pizza Hut Singapore, multiple locations across the island.
When: from now til 31 Dec 2025, weekdays 11am to 5pm
Price: from $3.90
8. Pepper Lunch (Halal)

You don’t want to miss this sizzling hot student meal deal at Pepper Lunch! If you’re unfamiliar with their concept, Pepper Lunch serves uncooked ingredients on a hotplate and you “cook” your own meal. Just mix it up and wait for it to cook – they’ve got rice with meat, corn, butter, and various sauces. The DIY aspect makes it fun and interactive but this one might be for the older kids since the plate is extremely hot and can be dangerous. They’ve got three options for their student deal – Chicken Cheese Creamy Brown Risotto, Salmon and Chicken Pepper Rice, and Diced Cut Steak with Egg. While I never got to try their student deal, I love Pepper Lunch’s savoury sauces and generous portions of meat. While I do love the DIY hotplate concept, it does tend to splatter quite a bit and I have been burnt by the plate before so I would strongly advise that only the older kids get Pepper Lunch.
Where: Pepper Lunch, multiple locations across the island.
When: Mon – Fri, opening time to 5pm
Price: from $8
9. Swensen’s (Halal)

I don’t know about you, but the first thing that comes to mind whenever someone mentions “Fish n Chips” is Swensen’s, although they’ve got much more to offer than just that. I remember walking into a Swensen’s as a kid and thinking, “Wow, this place seems expensive!” – which is why their student meal deals blow me away. There are so many options to choose from, including vegan options like their IMPOSSIBLE Burger and No Meet U Pasta. Each student meal comes with a drink and soup of the day as well – although it doesn’t come with an ice cream, it’d be silly not to get one, especially if you’re at Swensen’s. If they’ve got pocket money to spare that is!
Where: Swensen’s, multiple locations across the island.
When: Mon – Fri, 11am to 4.30pm, excluding special occasions, eve of/and Public Holidays.

10. COLLIN’S

COLLIN’S is definitely one of the bougier options for a student meal but hey, treat yourself once in a while! Their promotion is a little different as well – they’re offering $5 off any dish in the salad, pasta, meats, seafood, the new sharing, and wood-fired pizza categories plus a free drink. That means they’ll have plenty to choose from, no matter how picky an eater they may be.

Their offering 20% off all the regular-priced menu items, including their donburi (rice bowl), sushi, bento boxes, and even sashimi.
