Sure we have the Mid-Autumn festival but we'll never get to experience real Autumn – here are ways to get similar vibes in Singapore.
Singapore’s tropical weather means it’s perpetually hot and Summer-ish all year round, even when October comes around. In other countries around the world it’s usually Autumn – the season for Halloween but also cool weather, comfy atmosphere, and lots of orange. If you’re a fan of Autumn, here are some ways you can recreate similar vibes right here in Singapore without having to travel!
Autumn-themed food and drinks
Pumpkin Spice Lattes

For coffee lovers, this is THE Autumn drink – full of pumpkin and cinnamon-y flavour! The Pumpkin Spice Latte was first introduced by Starbucks in 2003 and people have been in love with it ever since. Starbucks isn’t the only place to get it now though, many other coffee joints like Dunkin’ offer their takes on the PSL. But if you can’t wait for them to drop during the Autumn period, you can always make one yourself at home! They even have a kid-friendly version for the little ones to enjoy too.
Pumpkin soup

On rainy days, soup is a good option to warm your body and soul. For a more Autumn-vibe, pumpkin soup is a great option especially if you like the thicker and creamier kind! It’s rich, sweet, and goes well with cornbread or just any kind of bread really. Plus, it’s quite easy to whip up whenever you want to snuggle up at home on a cosy day.
French Onion Soup Pasta

It doesn’t always have to be pumpkin-flavoured stuff for Autumn vibes, a hearty and soulful French Onion Soup Pasta would be an excellent comfort food. Rich, caramelised onions and beef broth with pasta sound like a match made in heaven – top that off with some cheese if you want to make it extra creamy! The last thing you want to do after eating something heavy like this is deal with the clean-up – here’s a one-pot recipe that’ll save you on all the dishwashing.
Maple-Apple Upside-Down Cake

If you’re feeling a bit ambitious, here’s a dessert that’s got a bit of a twist to it. This Maple-Apple Upside-Down Cake might take you a while to make but it will be worth it. The maple syrup gets soaked up by the apples and spongy cake making each bite full of sugary goodness – the kiddos will definitely go wild for this one!

Spruce up the wardrobe

Fall clothing is hard to pull off in Singapore with the heat, but that doesn’t mean it’s impossible! Brands like Love Bonito, ZARA, and UNIQLO already have their fall collections ready to go – they’re also light and thin enough to rock in Singapore. If you already have outfits in mind, you could thrift for the pieces or trade in some of your older clothes too!
Autumn-scents

Finding a scent to tie the look together is also a great way to express the Autumn vibes – Maison Margiela’s Autumn Vibes is an option since it’s literally in its name! Bath and Body Works has a Pumpkin Swirl Cake body wash and shower gel that’ll have you smelling like pumpkin spice, caramel toffee and creamy vanilla – yummy! Victoria’s Secret Autumn Shore is a limited edition body mist that’s now in stock – if you like notes of vanilla and coffee.
Autumn holidays
Autumn might not mean crunchy leaves and chilly mornings here in Singapore, but that doesn’t mean we can’t get into the seasonal spirit. There’s plenty happening over the coming months, from lantern-lit evenings and mooncakes to dressing up for Halloween, gathering around the table for Thanksgiving and getting swept up in the sparkle of Deepavali.
Mid-Autumn Festival

First up is Mid-Autumn Festival, which feels like a pretty perfect celebration for autumn. Think glowing lanterns, mooncakes, family gatherings and balmy evenings spent outdoors under the moonlight. In 2026, Mid-Autumn Festival falls on 25 September, with celebrations happening around Singapore throughout the month. It’s also a lovely way to introduce little ones to the stories, traditions and cultural significance behind this much-loved festival.
Halloween

Then, of course, there’s Halloween. Whether your kids are all about dressing up as their favourite characters, collecting sweet treats or getting suitably spooked, Singapore has plenty of ways to celebrate. From pumpkin-themed activities and crafty afternoons to Halloween parties and trick-or-treating, it’s a great excuse to embrace a little silliness and creativity as a family.
Thanksgiving

If you’re craving a taste of autumn in the American sense, Thanksgiving is another lovely tradition to borrow. It isn’t a public holiday in Singapore, but there’s something rather wonderful about setting aside an evening for a family feast, cooking up some autumn-inspired treats and talking about the things you’re grateful for. You don’t need to recreate a picture-perfect Thanksgiving dinner – the important bit is getting everyone around the table.
Deepavali

Deepavali, Singapore’s Festival of Lights, brings plenty of its own autumn magic. Taking place on 8 November in 2026, the celebration fills Little India with colour, light, music, food and plenty of festive energy. It’s a wonderful time for families to explore the neighbourhood, soak up the atmosphere and help kids discover more about the traditions and stories behind this important festival.
Bring home the Autumn vibes

You can still bring the Autumn vibes to your home without making any major renovations or redecorating – it could be as simple as changing the colours of your pillowcases, tablecloth, bedsheets or anything else!
