On top of having a rigorous and comprehensive curriculum, here are more reasons why you should consider The Perse School Singapore…
Update: The Perse School Singapore has closed and is now known as Invictus International School Bukit Timah.
The Perse School boasts 400 years of academic excellence, and was named by The Times as the number one ranked independent co-educational school in the United Kingdom in 2018. As its first international branch, The Perse School Singapore is an accredited Cambridge International School with strong merits of its own as well. Here’s why we love The Perse School Singapore (and you will too!).
4 reasons to consider enrolling your child at The Perse
1. Lessons are taught by subject-specific teachers
The Perse School Singapore practises subject-specific teaching from Year 3 onwards, meaning that each subject is taught by a subject-specialist. As each subject may require a different set of skills, The Perse believes it’s best that each subject is taught by a teacher who is a subject matter expert. This way, you can be sure that your child learns from the best and has all the resources they need to master each subject. That’s a big thumbs up from us!
2. Singapore Mathematics is included in the curriculum
The “Singapore model” of teaching mathematics has always been regarded as one of the best in the world, with students regularly topping international charts in terms of mathematical abilities. Recognising this, The Perse has included the Singapore Mathematics teaching method into its curriculum. In fact, the school’s Head of Mathematics is a Singaporean who’s trained in teaching Singapore Math!
3. It has not one, but TWO, high-tech science labs!
Every student at The Perse spends two and a half hours learning Science every week. To facilitate their learning experience, the school has two dedicated science labs for students to explore science and learn all its concepts. These are high-tech and well equipped science labs, allowing students to perform experiments, make observations, and draw conclusions through individual and collaborative efforts.
4. It offers daily Mandarin classes in a dual-track system
Understanding that a Mandarin immersion programme may not suit all students, The Perse offers daily Mandarin lessons in a dual-track system: Standard Chinese (SC) and Chinese as a Foreign Language (CFL). SC lessons are designed for students who already have a strong grasp of the language; whereas CFL is for beginners who are interested in picking up the language. This way, students will be able to master the language more effectively at their own pace without feeling overwhelmed. There are also Mandarin-based extracurricular activities (ECA) that students can take part in – such as Chinese Speech and Drama as well as Chinese drumming. The combination of Mandarin lessons and ECAs boosts language proficiency and cultural appreciation among students. Double win!
You can get 15% off school fees right now
The Perse School Singapore is currently offering 15% off school fees for Aug 2021 – July 2022 academic year and 10% off school fees for Aug 2022 – July 2023 academic year. But that’s not all – students who enrolled before Aug 2022 will continue to enjoy 10% off their school fees all the way till they leave school!
Interested parents can book a personalised school tour to check out the campus and see classes in action. This way, you and your child can truly experience what it’s like to be part of The Perse family. The school will be accepting Year 7 students starting from August 2022, so parents with children turning 11 by then are welcome too!
