What happens after remote learning at Tanglin Trust School? Lots of individualised attention from the Tanglin Personal Learning Team!
With remote learning hopefully a thing of the past in Singapore, us parents are now faced with a new problem: how are schools assessing progress made during remote learning? And most importantly, how are schools handling the transition from remote learning to being back in the classrooms? The lucky kids at Tanglin Trust School all have access to Precision Teaching, part of its Personalised Learning Team (PLT), to support their learning journey. Here’s what else we learned…
What is Precision Teaching at Tanglin?
Although most schools offer academic support to students, this usually only focuses on Learning Support and Enrichment. At Tanglin Trust School, students have access to Precision Teaching, a progress-based intervention program that maximises every child’s learning gains. It’s aim? To help students further progress in key aspects of reading and writing through targeted, highly-customised teaching. The result? Relevant and impactful lessons that encourage kids to succeed!
Why Precision Teaching works
Throughout the school year, Tanglin’s Leadership for Learning Team looks at trends and patterns across the school, matching the curriculum offering to the profile of the learners. Ongoing assessments in each year group allow teachers to establish how children are progressing, with The Personalised Learning Team then offering immediate and adapted intervention programs in response. This is not only a highly successful approach for moving children forward in any given year, it is also a tried-and-tested framework that has great relevance in the current situation – pretty reassuring stuff, we think!
Why we love Tanglin Trust School
