This international school has a proven track record of excellence in maths – just read about the awards and scores its students have achieved.
Most of us would agree that maths isn’t the easiest subject to master (speaking from personal experience right here). That’s why we’re so impressed with the recent achievements of Stamford American International School’s students. Not only did the school have one of the highest number of student representatives, its students clinched perfect scores and first place at both national and global levels!
Stamford American’s maths report card

Back in the 2024 academic year, Stamford American fielded 90 representatives in the Inter-School Math Competition. Adding on to that, its Grade 11 participant, Brian beat over 300 participants from six international schools and won gold with his perfect 56/56 score.
Not long after that, the school made headlines at the 2024 American Mathematics Olympiad as well. Justin, a Stamford American Grade 5 student, secured first place not just at the school, national, and international levels. That’s a big win!
Most recently in February this year, Stamford American again made waves at the Inter-School Math Competition by winning overall first place, thanks to the efforts and hard work of its 62 talented student representatives. As a small token, the school awarded its students with 2,000 KrisFlyer miles each.
What is Stamford American’s secret?

Stamford American has always been known for its academic rigour, integrating the International Baccalaureate (IB) framework with American curriculum standards. Both the IB and the American curriculum are known for promoting critical thinking and problem solving skills among children, all of which are key traits needed to ace maths.
But that’s not all, the school’s student-centred approach enables it to nurture mathematical talent from a young age. Stamford American’s teachers provide personalised support to students who are strong in mathematics; and these students are provided with the suitable enrichment opportunities to reach their full potential.
Furthermore, Stamford American allows its students to apply their classroom knowledge in competitive, real-world scenarios such as the inter-school and international competitions. Participating in competitions helps boost their confidence, and is an invaluable experience that will build their mathematical skills when they pursue advanced maths subjects in the IB or Advanced Placement programmes.
