Planning for the school holidays? We’ve drafted an itinerary for a short family getaway to Sentosa that’s bound to deliver maximum fun!
The March school holidays may be a short one, but it doesn’t mean you can’t make the most out of it. In fact, you don’t even need to travel far to have a fun-filled vacay with the fam. With four world class attractions, lux hotels, and a variety of dining options all in one place – Resorts World Sentosa is one of our favourite places to play and explore with the family.
Plus, you might even score some savings with its ongoing stay packages, which come with attraction tickets or dining credits!
A family-friendly itinerary to Resorts World Sentosa
Day One
Morning – afternoon: Start your staycay with a splash!
Start the kids’ holiday on a high note with some splash-tastic fun at Adventure Cove Waterpark. Head to the waterpark as soon as it opens so you can try out all its rides and play areas.
Adventurous teens and tweens should definitely try the exhilarating Pipeline Plunge and Whirlpool Washout. You may also accompany your kid (at least 107cm in height) on the gravity-defying Riptide Rocket, or explore the colourful Rainbow Reef with them. For families with younger kids, Big Bucket Treehouse and Seahorse Hideaway are the perfect play areas for the little ones.
And finally, before you end the day, don’t forget to go on a grand tour of the waterpark on its popular Adventure River. This is a relaxing ride that’ll take you through various themed zones, including a mysterious grotto and a tunnel where you’ll see fishes swimming above you!
Late afternoon: Check in
After a full day at the waterpark, it’s time to check in to the hotel and relax. As all of the hotels at Resorts World Sentosa are family-friendly, choosing one just boils down to your family’s personal preference!
Hotel Michael is known for its artsy interior, with warm-coloured rooms that’ll make for a cosy staycation with the fam. Teens will love how Instagrammable Hotel Ora and its rooms are, with sleek and smart design. For families looking for the best views of Sentosa, Equarius Hotel is the one for them with forest and ocean view rooms.
Pro-tip: If you’re a family of waterpark fans, check out Resorts World Sentosa’s Escape to Excitement package! This package comes with two Adventure Cove Waterpark adult tickets, a two-night stay at Hotel Ora or Equarius Hotel, and daily breakfast for two.
Evening: Tuck into a scrumptious dinner
Ranging from casual to fine dining, you’ll be spoilt for choice when it comes to food at Resorts World Sentosa. Since it’s the fam’s first night here, why not treat them to one of its many signature restaurants?
If you prefer Asian cuisine, there’s Feng Shui Inn (traditional Cantonese cuisine), Soi Social (contemporary Thai) and Syun (Japanese fine dining). Those who prefer Western fare can check out Osia Steak and Seafood Grill, or the immersive Ocean Restaurant for the best seafood dishes. Still feeling adventurous after a day at Adventure Cove Waterpark? Go fusion at CHIFA! with Peruvian-Chinese cuisine.
Pro-tip: Foodie families will appreciate Resorts World Sentosa’s Unwind and Dine package, which comes with $100 dining credits at Resorts World Sentosa’s signature restaurants (full list of participating restaurants here), on top of two nights stay at Hotel Michael, Equarius Hotel or Hotel Ora, plus breakfast.
Day Two
Morning – afternoon: Excitement awaits at Universal Studios Singapore
Universal Studios Singapore is a theme park that’s more than just fun rides. Expect immersive themed zones, meet-and-greets (with dinosaurs!), live shows, as well as must-try snacks and treats!
If you’re coming with preschoolers, fun rides like Treasure Hunters, Magic Potion Spin, and Dino-Soarin may be suitable. Those with older kids who are looking for adrenaline-pumping rides can opt for Transformers the Ride: The Ultimate 3D Battle, Revenge of the Mummy, and the (if you’re up for it) hair-raising Battlestar Galactica: Human vs. Cylon rides.
When it comes to meet-and-greets, the kiddos will be happy to meet characters from DreamWorks Animation’s Shrek in the Far Far Away zone. As for little dino fans, you won’t want to miss Baby Kilo’s Naptime Tango, the pre-nap time walk of an adorable baby raptor. Psst… you can even give her a cuddle!
Feeling peckish? There are themed restaurants at every zone with unique dishes for the whole fam to try. Choose from all-American favourites at Mel’s Drive-In, traditional Indian dishes at Oasis Spice Café, Shrek waffles at Goldilocks, and out-of-this-world dessert at Star Dots.
Pro-tip: As some popular rides may see long queues throughout the day, you may want to consider getting a Universal Express pass to save time.
Evening: Catch the Universal Star Power Parade and have a chill dinner after
If you’re visiting Universal Studios Singapore on a Saturday, you’re in luck. Stay a little longer in the theme park till 7:30pm, and you’ll get to see your favourite characters light up the night on themed floats during the reimagined Universal Star Power Parade. This is an experience the whole fam won’t want to miss!
After the dazzling parade, head over to Gourmet Park at Resorts World Sentosa for a relaxing dinner. You can find everything from local flavours to pizzas, and even Mexican fare. Sample delicious plant-based burgers from The Goodburger, feast on Blue Lotus’ famous chilli crab, then wash it all down with fresh fruit smoothies from Jamba.
Day Three
Morning: Visit one of the world’s largest aquariums
Did you know that you can find more than 100,000 marine animals in Resorts World Sentosa? They’re all housed in S.E.A. Aquarium, one of the largest aquariums in the world! Come early to catch the dive feeding and meet magnificent manta rays, then check out all seven zones to learn more about the underwater world, as well as what we can do to protect it.
Pro-tip: Want to make the most out of your family vacay? You can get more bang for your buck with Resorts World Sentosa’s 2 Nights Hotel & Multi-Attractions package. Not only will you get a two-night stay at Hotel Michael, Equarius Hotel or Hotel Ora with daily breakfast, you’ll also get two tickets each to Universal Studios Singapore and S.E.A. Aquarium! And that’s not all, the package comes with F&B vouchers for both attractions, and retail vouchers for Universal Studios Singapore.
Afternoon: Check out
This staycay may have ended, but the memories made last forever. With so many offerings, we’re sure you’d have a blast at Resorts World Sentosa. So tell the little ones to chin up as you check out, because this isn’t goodbye – it’s see you again soon!
