Major sports events for kids In October!
Practice your cheers, design your signs and whack on some warpaint – October is the month to join the crowd and introduce your kids to the thrill of international sporting events! Singapore Sports Hub is about to play host to a series of events that will get kids out of the armchair, into the sports stand a maybe even onto the field – in a few years.
This month international rugby, diving and tennis players, including Serena Williams and Neymar da Silva Santos Júnior, will descend on the brand-spanking venue, which looks set to become the best place for spectator sport outside of Boomarang on a Saturday afternoon.
On Tuesday October 14, small football fans can don their jerseys to watch Asian champions Japan take on five-time World Cup winners Brazil in an international friendly.

From October 17, the BNP Paribas WTA Finals promises 10 days of amazing tennis between the world’s top eight women players in a round-robin event – meaning you’re just as likely to see a cracking match in the early days as in the finals. A good one to inspire young girls.
At the OCBC Aquatic Centre, the FINA Diving Grand Prix will keep the springboard well-oiled between Friday 17 and Sunday 19 October.

If all that spectating inspires some action, there are also free learn-to-play tennis, beach volleyball and bossaball (a mix of volleyball, soccer and acrobatics – to save you a Google) lessons offered on weekends, as well as water sports courses and boat hire options.
All in all, it seems a pretty good time to introduce your little ones to the wide world of sport.
