Go on a time-travelling adventure, explore the animal kingdom, learn how to fly a drone, and star in a musical - Canadian International School’s Summer Camp has it all!
The summer holidays are just around the corner, which also means that it’s time for parents to start looking for holiday camps for the kiddos. Not only do these camps keep kids busy with fun activities, they also give kids the opportunity to learn things that fit their interests and hobbies.
Starting from 20 June to 29 July 2022, Canadian International School (CIS) will be bringing back their popular Summer Camp with five different camp categories to cater for the interest of every child. These categories include Creativity and Performances, Global Languages, Multi-Activity, Sports and Wellness, as well as STEAM. Here are some of the exciting camps you can sign your kid up for:
Explore the animal kingdom as Zany Zoologists
Got an animal lover at home? Sign them up for this one-week camp where they’ll get to be zoologists for a week. The Zany Zoologists camp will teach kids about animal habitats, behaviour, and each creature’s unique abilities. Your kid will also get the chance to build their own robot pet dog, which will teach them about a dog’s movement abilities.
Bonus: Your kid will get to bring the robot dog home too!
Sing and dance to Bugsy Malone, The Sound Of Music, and Matilda
CIS has three musical camps for kids who love to unleash their inner musical potential. Choose from The Sound Of Music (for ages four to five); Matilda (for ages six to eight); and Bugsy Malone (for ages nine to 14) where they will learn how to sing, dance, and act to these beloved musicals. Who knows, you may have a budding musical star by the end of the week!
Go on an adventure with Time Travelling: Ancient Archaeology
Who says history is boring? Time Travelling: Ancient Archaeology will take your kid on a journey back to prehistoric times and the era of ancient empires. Children will learn about world history as well as the history of their home countries through fun archaeological activities like excavating artefacts and looking for prehistoric bones.
Get active with multi-ball sports at the Ball Sports Camp
This one is for the sporty kids out there! Designed for kids aged six to 14, the Ball Sports Camp will train your kid in basketball and football for four days straight. On top of learning new basketball and football skills, your kid will also have the chance to make new friends and develop their teamwork skills in this four-day action-packed sports camp.
Let your kid spread their wings at Fun Fly Aviation and Drones
Fulfil your kid’s flying dreams at CIS’ aviation workshop that’s developed by pilots, educators, and professional aviators! Your child will receive an Aviation Kit at the beginning of the camp that allows them to learn through play, using example items like hand-launched gliders, twirlers, kites, and parachutes. Drone programming is also part of the camp, as well as the history of aviation.
There’s something for every child at CIS’ Summer Camp!
From programming drones to starring in musicals, your kid will be spoilt for choices at CIS’ Summer Camp. Selected camps are also suitable for children as young as four years-old, who are guided by camp leaders and supported by CIS’ Instructional Assistants throughout the session. The camp fees are priced between $560 to $700, which includes snacks and lunch throughout the four or five-day camp, guest activities (if applicable), a camp t-shirt, as well as a celebration certificate. With camps held at both the Lakeside and Tanjong Katong campuses, parents have the option to choose a holiday camp venue that’s most convenient for them.
Top tip: browse CIS’ camps list with your kid and sign them up for their faves before 31 May to enjoy a 10% early bird discount!
