The school just scored the best academic results ever for its International Baccalaureate Diploma, IGCSE, and Australian High School Certificate programmes!
The students at the Australian International School (AIS) have gone and done it again! The international school reports outstanding results achieved by its International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IBDP), Australian High School Certificate (HSC), and IGCSE class of 2021. Here’s how they scored…
The class of 2021 achieved AIS’ best ever IBDP, HSC, and IGCSE results
Despite the interruptions caused by Covid-19, AIS’ class of 2021 demonstrated resilience and produced the school’s best results ever for all three of its curriculums.
Firstly, all of AIS’ IBDP students managed to complete and pass their diplomas. In fact, 70% of them scored 35 IB points and above, which is above the world average of 32.39; and 14 of their students completed bilingual diplomas. The school community is also particularly proud of two of its students – Arkie Mandziy and Kaylee Heng – for nailing perfect scores of 45 for their IBDP.
This amazing news is followed by that of AIS’ HSC students, for which 11 of its students made it to the New South Wales’ HSC merit list. They also scored an average of 78.5 in the Australian Tertiary Admissions Ranking (ATAR), which means the students are 21.5% of the top scorers of their age group. Out of all of AIS’ HSC students, four of them scored an ATAR of 90 and above.
Last but not least, the IGCSE students of AIS also exceeded expectations with 54% scoring A* and A’s.
AIS helps students achieve success through an education programme that allows them to flourish
Students at AIS go through a holistic education programme that has a strong focus on academic learning, which the school believes is key to helping its students flourish. This is why the school chose to offer its students exposure to three world-class curricula in secondary school.
Year 9 and Year 10 students follow the academically rigorous IGCSE curriculum that helps prepare them for their senior years in school. Upon completion of Year 10, students are given the choice to pursue IBPD or the Australian HSC. This allows them to choose an academic path that best suits their interests, which leads to them realising their unique potentials and eventually excelling in whichever programme they choose.
The school also has an Athlete Development Programme (ADP), which aims to identify and develop potential and aspiring student athletes. ADP provides these students with exceptional opportunities to achieve excellence in sports. Students selected for this will go through a two-year programme, learning modules such as Sports Psychology, Nutrition, Coaching Methods, and more.
