If you’re looking for an inspiring primary school for your kids, now’s the time to add EtonHouse Thomson to your shortlist.
Are you searching for an amazing primary school in Singapore? EtonHouse Thomson, one of this city’s best international schools, is launching a Primary Years Program in August 2016 and you’re invited to explore all that it has to offer at the Open House on 19 March. With its lush green setting, beautifully designed learning spaces, and innovative curriculum it kind of seems like the primary school of our dreams. If only we could hit the rewind button and take our smaller selves back to school, we think this would be our destination of choice. Alas, we’ll have to settle for the next best thing and send our kids to EtonHouse while we awkwardly hang around just that little bit longer than we probably should.
Aside from the beautiful surroundings and its lovely colonial building, EtonHouse really prides itself on creating graduates who are confident, competent and effectively bilingual global citizens. For the primary years starting at age six the school offers an International Baccalaureate (IB) program in a bilingual environment, which is an extension of what’s offered to children from as young as 18 months old. This is not just a simple language class. Rather, an English and Mandarin teacher interacts with the students in the two languages throughout the day, meaning kids learn to think and understand concepts in both. Communicating effectively in two languages is a skill many of us wish we’d mastered at a young age while it’s still relatively easy, so this component of the Primary Program at EtonHouse gets a big tick from us!
The Primary Years program is completely supported by the long-established campus at Broadrick Road. The Broadrick campus has been teaching the young folk of Singapore for 18 years and caters for preschool through to secondary school. The educators at both campuses are a highly qualified bunch who work passionately alongside students to support them in driving their own learning. We love a good dose of initiative! The Thomson campus also features well-resourced Playgroup and Preschool programs for littlies aged nine months through to six years. The playgroup is a lovely space for parents and tiny tots to learn together, while the preschool classes focus on empowering kids to participate in group problem solving experiences, make personal choices, and build an understanding of different concepts.
If you’d like to find out more about the new Primary Program (or even the playgroup and preschool offerings) and spend a morning soaking up the gorgeous atmosphere at EtonHouse Thomson, register here for the Open House on 19 March, 9.30am-1pm. You’ll be able to take your time wandering through the campus and learning more about the top quality curriculum from the education team. And, if you register here you can enjoy 50% off the student registration fee, so best be quick!
