We’re not surprised at Stamford American International School’s silver award win for “International School of the Year” at the recent Singapore Education Awards 2021. The High School program (from Grade 9 to 12) offers a holistic education that meets the academic, social, and emotional needs of each student. FYI: they’re the first and only school in Singapore to offer an Advanced Placement (AP), International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IB DP) and Business and Technical Education Council (BTEC) Diploma curricula, alongside a US-accredited High School Diploma. That means each student has the opportunity to pursue various pathways based on their interests.
An inclusive education pathway that yields great results
The school’s overall performance speaks volumes and has consistently improved over the years. The proof is in the pudding. Despite the pandemic, the class of 2021 achieved a 100% passing rate. Stamford’s average IB score was 35 (three points higher than 2020); 29% of students were awarded the rigorous IB Bilingual Diploma – and 90% of them scored a 6 or above.
The AP exam results were equally impressive, bagging an average score of 3.3. Psst: universities consider a score of 3 and above of high academic standing. To date, the class of 2021 has received offers from notable universities and colleges including Boston University, University of California Berkeley, Imperial College, University of Amsterdam, and National University of Singapore. Now, that’s impressive!

As an inclusive school, all backgrounds are welcome right from admission. The current student and faculty bodies are made up of over 75 nationalities. Every student at Stamford American is treated as a unique individual and is given the direction, counsel and support to discover their own potential for greatness.
In fact, Stamford American is one of the few schools in Singapore with onsite SAT and ACT test centers, offering college preparatory tests for secondary students from Grade 10.
