Give children a strong foundation at Learning Vision
We all want to be happy in life. And children seem to do it so well: just give them some saucepans and a wooden spoon, a ball, or a balloon and they know how to make their own fun. Building a solid educational foundation provides kids with the freedom and opportunity to take their creativity even further. Enter Learning Vision. The core philosophy of this well-established preschool is to deliver an environment full of joy where your child is never inhibited to pursue their interests. Sounds wonderful!
About the school
With a keen eye on international early childhood best practices, Learning Vision is a well-established childcare provider in Singapore and has the endorsement of partners like Changi Airport Group, Nanyang Technological University, and Tan Tock Seng Hospital. Provision of childcare services to these large organisations is in demand due to the schools’ happy and creative philosophy, leading to critical thinkers and confident learners. This is all backed up by ongoing investment in great teaching staff and facilities.
An established curriculum
The school curriculum is founded on five key principles and beliefs, aimed at growing and nurturing independent, lifelong learners. At its core, Learning Vision views every child as a competent, capable person with unique abilities, gifts, and talents.
In the infant curriculum, the programme focuses on enhancing motor skills, encouraging play with others, and cognitive development. The early years curriculum is designed to allow a seamless transition to the preschool years through various programmes like Hands@Work, which helps children explore sensory, tactile materials. At Circle Time, toddlers in small groups will use songs, stories, and rhymes to explore feelings and develop better social interactions and relationships.
In the preschool curriculum, what a child learns is planned around his/her interests, leading to inquiry, investigation, discovery, and hands-on exploration. Here, process-oriented learning is paramount, as children gain knowledge and skills necessary for their future education, like numeracy and technology.
Positive teaching results
Learning Vision believes that children are self-directed learners who can initiate their own learning. Teachers craft meaningful activities and provide resources to aid the child’s learning journey. With such positive teaching practices in place, it’s easy to see why Learning Vision has earned numerous accolades – an Outstanding Programme Award was received in 2010 for its exemplary teachers.
Parents are certainly happy with the outcomes too, as shown in a survey of 122 parents whose children graduated from the kindergarten last year:
- 96% agreed that their children mastered fundamental numeracy skills;
- 93% found that children received solid literacy skills and an increased interest in creative pursuits; and
- 91% of parents felt that their children fostered a strong interest in exploring the world about them through the school’s interactive activities.
