Here are just a few reasons we’ll be going to the Maple Bear Havelock open house!
We raved about the new Maple Bear Havelock a few weeks ago, and well, we’re struggling to stop. It’s just too lovely! If you’re looking for a top quality preschool in Singapore, mark Saturday 27 August in your calendar, when this fab school will throw open its doors to the public. In the meantime, please indulge us: here are a few reasons we love Maple Bear Havelock…
1. Its international outlook combined with local expertise
Yes, this is a Canadian international school, but that doesn’t mean it won’t work if you don’t hail from the land of ice hockey and Celine Dion. It also doesn’t mean it’s not suitable for locals, as Maple Bear Havelock was founded by Patricia Koh, a well-regarded veteran of the Singapore early childhood education industry. Mrs Koh has also managed centres and been invited to lead projects in the USA, Australia, China, Korea, Egypt, and several other countries. This lady knows her stuff, and she’s making sure the students and parents of Maple Bear benefit from her decades of experience.
2. The experienced teachers give you peace of mind
Speaking of experience, while Patricia Koh is an education powerhouse, she can’t do it alone! She’s personally selected a staff of highly qualified and super passionate teachers, each of whom have between five and 20 years’ experience in early childhood education. You can rest assured that anyone who’s been hired by Mrs Koh has earned their stripes.
3. A bilingual curriculum
It’s never too early to start learning a second language, so kids at Maple Bear are exposed to both English and Mandarin from their very first day onwards. If they continue on at Maple Bear through to Senior Kindergarten, they’ll be able to communicate effectively in both languages by listening and speaking, as well as have a good understanding of alphabetical symbols and read basic text.
4. Oh lordy, the space!
This kind of space is the stuff of dreams for many a Singapore resident: more than 10,000 square feet! And it’s space that’s used well, with a 14-metre ‘Special Art Wall’, a dedicated infant care area, an ‘Imaginative Play Area’, and an amazing indoor playground that’s got us itching for a turn. We’d love to not tell you about the dedicated learning areas so we could perhaps save them for ourselves for a while, but yes, there are spaces known as the Art Area, the Cookery Corner, the Letterland Corner, and the Tactile Learning Corner. We promise to share.
