The new campus is projected to open in August 2023, subject to approval from regulatory authorities.
Heads up, families in the North-East of Singapore – One World International School (OWIS) will be opening a Digital Campus* in Punggol in August 2023! This will be the school’s third campus in Singapore, adding to the existing ones in Nanyang and Suntec. It will be catering to students from Early Childhood to Grade 8 initially, with plans to expand up to Grade 12.
So what can families expect from this brand new modern campus? We’ve got all the juicy deets right here.
An ultra-modern campus with a technology-enriched learning environment
As the name suggests, you can expect OWIS Digital Campus to be equipped with all the latest technology that will enhance your child’s learning experience. We’re talking about classroom digital tools like virtual-enabled smart boards; 21st century learning facilities like digital libraries, MacBook-enabled IT labs, virtual reality booth, and STEM studio; as well as sports facilities that are fitted with performance analytics tools!
You can tell that a lot of thought has gone into designing this ultra-modern campus. Each gadget and digital facility that is incorporated into the campus will work towards providing OWIS students with a truly 21st century education. It’s not just about honing academic skills, but future-proofing students with skills like collaboration, creative thinking, problem-solving, and digital literacy. For example: smart boards will allow students to collaborate with each other easily; the STEM studio will provide them with a space to improve their skills in that particular area, while digital libraries and IT labs will be spaces where they can hone their digital skills as well as learn about digital citizenship.
On top of that, the Digital Campus’ smart classroom devices and education apps will allow the school to provide each student with a personalised learning experience. Teachers can then easily provide each student with the necessary support they need to excel.
Different campus, same OWIS values and pastoral care
OWIS is known for its multicultural learning environment and excellent pastoral care, both of which received rave reviews from parents in the Nanyang and Suntec campuses. Families can expect the same from its new Digital Campus as well! In fact, we’re told that the new campus will be a kindness-led learning environment. School leaders, teachers, and staff will be committed to working together to create a positive school culture where students will not only thrive, but feel safe and welcomed. With kindness as an integral value in the school, students develop self-awareness and compassion towards each other. This then leads to improved learning capabilities, allowing students to reach their full potential.
To maintain a truly multicultural school community, OWIS Digital Campus will follow a 30% cap on each nationality. Students can enjoy a truly international school experience, where inclusivity is practised, and cultural diversity is celebrated.
