Academic programs at Overseas Family School are rigorous and thoughtfully-designed. We take great pride in our students’ academic achievements. Our highly-acclaimed International Baccalaureate Middle Years and Diploma Programs (IB MYP and IB DP) immerse students in a wide range of stimulating course offerings designed to help them make practical connections between their learning and the outside world. With a 96% pass rate, OFS consistently produces students scoring a perfect 45 points year after year and its IB results well surpass world averages. In the May 2024 IB exam session, OFS produced 2 perfect scorers and over 40 students scoring 40 grade points and above (24% vs 4.42% globally). An impressive 29% of successful candidates were also awarded prestigious IB Bilingual Diplomas, reflecting the exceptional language resources available at OFS. These results are especially remarkable in light of OFS’ inclusive, open-entry admissions and exams policies. Because it believes that every student can succeed, OFS students are not preselected into the Diploma program. Any student who wishes to pursue the IB Diploma program is allowed and encouraged to do so, making this one of the most inclusive and successful IB Diploma programs offered in Singapore.

Navigating the university application process can be daunting for any student but if your sights are set high on admission to an elite university, the complexity increases tenfold. To help its students develop the critical knowledge and skills necessary to access the world’s leading universities, OFS has thoughtfully launched a Prestigious University Program (PUP) to provide students with personalized support and guidance. An extension of its existing support framework in which every OFS High School student is assigned an Academic Advisor, the Program meets with shortlisted candidates as early as Grade 9, mentoring students throughout their high school careers on every aspect of their university applications. From suggesting appropriate extracurricular activities to boost their competitive profile, to providing feedback on essays and coaching for interviews, the Program works with students to maximize their chances of acceptance. Despite being relatively new, the Program has already seen some impressive success with the Class of 2023 achieving record numbers of students receiving offers from Ivy League schools and Oxbridge.

Meanwhile, OFS’ competitive sports program has also continued to grow from strength to strength, with notable successes in both ACSIS and national competitions. In national swimming, the OFS Tigers recently produced 2 Singapore National Swimming Champions (Gold), 2 National Silver Swimming Medallists and 3 National Bronze Medallists. In gymnastics, the OFS Tigers Gymnastics Level 2 Team won the Singapore National Championships team event, and an OFS student was named National Champion on Asymmetric Bars.

Overseas Family School offers an inclusive culture where students are allowed to realize their potential and are encouraged to contribute to the life of the school. Unlike many international schools, OFS’ commitment to equal access means that we do not preselect students for admission into IB classes and exams. Students and parents can select the courses best suited to them. Similarly, our sports program caters to elite athletes and recreational players alike. There are many opportunities to compete at intra-school and inter-school levels.
